  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

What cut-resistant gloves do you guys use?

Mechanix do a dipped finger style kevlar mesh glove that I like for that sort of work. I wear them while chopping palm fronds with my machete. Partly due to my lack of coordination and to reduce the risk from the machete, although I've also gotten cuts from the palms when the blade catches and pulls the branch from the other hand. They don't resist pin-pricks really at all since they are a knit style glove, but for unexpected sharp edges they do very well, and thats all I need for my six square yards of back garden clean-up.

I would never need cut-proof gloves or any other protection against cuts. If I was clumsy enough with a tool that I was cutting myself while using it I would have stopped long ago. The only reason I ever used gloves while splitting wood was because I split for so long the skin on my hands was tearing and blistering.

Do you EVER have anything nice to say to anyone?

I've only used leather gardening gloves, when I bothered to use gloves. Most of the time I dont use them. After 60 odd years, I still have eight full fingers and two complete thumbs. 😊
