What design should I make?

I've recently taken up a teacher in the art of forging and whatnot, and he gifted me a piece of 17"x2"x1/4" 5160 steel to make whatever I want with. I was considering making some kind of interesting design, maybe even to take the place of a hatchet or tomahawk. If you have any designs post them up and it may be my first knife/hawk design.

The blades on them were quite thin (more knife-like) so given that the stock is a full 1/4" thick that gives you plenty of metal for forging I'd imagine. Especially if folding the stock over to make the eye and forge welding the rest together.

I've mostly decided on a large blade but not sure what to make yet. I want mainly a large fighting blade (short sword) that maybe has destructive capability
