What did everyone get for the holidays?

This Big Idea Lookout I’ve been wanting for years. Santa got a good spy network. 🎅

Buck 112 with finger grooves. I had a coupon….which is a favorite saying of mine, but the cutlery store had a great sale and discount I couldn’t pass up. Also still have a Bear and Son carbon steel lockback coming, I used some Christmas present funds so technically it is a Christmas present or an early birthdate present as mine is in January.

Well I got old guy stuff, audio books and socks etc.

But what I gave was what made the day special for me . . . .

Gave our adult son a set of deer antlers to use for knife handles. He is trying out his hands on stock removal knife making . . .still developing his grinding skills. Also gave him a couple of slabs of 1095 steel for his next couple of tries.

Gave our 16 yer old grandson a Leatherman Wave Plus. This is his first quality multitool. Neither his mother or grandmother quite got why this was a big deal for him.

Finally, I gave both of them a Damascus replacement main blade for their multitools, with the caveat that an E-Bay bought Damascus blade may not be bullet proof and to keep the stock, D2 blades just in case.

What I got: My wife found a vintage Buck 112 in a "antique shop". It is an early one with the sharp edges to every part that wear out your pants pocket. I cherish it because she shopped for it with my interest in her heart. It needs more work than I have patience, tools or skill for to get it back tho usable condition. It needs to be disassembled and deep cleaned. I intend to send it off to Buck for that.
