That's a Spydie nut's wet dream, finding a collectible for cheap from someone who doesn't know what they have. Not that you'd take advantage. "Hey sir, there's no way I can only pay you $3.00 for that. It's worth at least $100 on Ebay" ;)

Saw your post and when I opened and saw the pic proceeding your story I just about fell out of my chair!

So ridiculously lucky!!!
Definitely feeling a bit envious, if I was there and the guy said $15 bucks I'd probably would have turned my back, bit into my lip, and paced a little bit to keep me from losing it.

quiet sobbing - I think that deal sucked up all the "great knife deal karma" on the entire continent for like an entire year!
 
How come the yard sales out here don't have that kind of stuff in them? :(

Either someone's husband or son is gonna be really P.O.'d, or the seller just had no idea what they had!

Ever lost a knife before? There's a guy out there who lost this knife and granny found it and sold it for $15.00. That's my theory.
 
You could flip that for a hundred-fold profit! There's a heart broken soul out there somewhere.
 
What a great thread. It's really cool to hear about someone finding "The Deal", kind of like finding a jaguar d type that had been parked in the barn for near on 40 years now.

That is a great find. I've been to a couple garage sales and I've never seen anything that cool. The best I did was find an old Buck fixed blade for $7.00, as soon as I noticed a guy came by and snagged it.
My cousin lives in Yuma, I might have to roadtrip to see her. It's only a couple hours drive from me. :D
