What did this box contain?

I just got this a few days ago and it has me a little puzzled. Does anyone have any idea as to what it was supposed to contain?

Dave, I'm curious also. I've never seen it before.

I can't be certain, but I feel like the bottom insert with the cutouts is original to the box because the fit is perfect.

It sure doesn't look like it was meant to hold knives does it.

I thought salemans sample case myself. I got it on the bay but it didn't show the inserts. I just assumed that it would be for knives or at least just plain flat foam.

Maybe it was plain foam, but they cut inserts out?

Dave: Rusty Donoghue here. I watched this case on EBay trying to decide whether to bid on it. I was concerned with the seller's description about the interior foam. So, I emailed the seller and asked if the foam cutouts would fit knives. I even mentioned a 4" closed slip joint. I never heard back, so I didn't submit a bid. Looks like you did. Should I say "Congratulations", or "Condolences"? The exterior looked great. Enjoy.

No clue either Plumber, but what are the approximate dimensions??

It's 12' x 17" x 5 1/2". The foam has been cut so neatly, it almost has to have been machine cut.

It's a cool box no matter what, so I'm glad to have it. I'll probably fit some new foam with my own cut outs.

I might even make it a carry case for my new netbook and accessories. :thumbup:

Quality control, measuring or testing instruments used at the Buck Factory or something like that related to the China factory?

It would have to hold fragile or sensitive items that had to travel a lot......possibly related to computers?

Something for trade shows?

very strange . All 10 shapes are unique as well... I have no idea what they could have been, I cant even think of items that would fit the two cuts outs on the far left.
