I'm bored here at my school library, and figured this may be an interesting topic. Everyone seems to enjoy the "What are you carrying" threads so I figured a "What did you cut today" thread would be just an interesting. If it has been done before or you guys just plain dont like it, go ahead and let it die, I wont take offense. :)

Some days I carry my knives and they never leave pocket, sometimes it seems like they never leave my hand. So far its not even noon and I've had my Spyderco Blue Alemite Walker (my first day carrying it) out all day. I've snipped a few loose threads on my gf's new coat, and while in class had to make some notecards. As you prob know, college classes dont have school supplies like scissors. A ruler and my Walker took good care of the whole class.

Luckily for me, this college is fairly liberal about knives and stuff on campus, as long as they're used in a proper manner. They pretty much have the same views I do- If you're willing to carry it clipped to your pocket so everyone knows you have it, you probably wont be using it as a weapon. It's the kids with knives and guns in their backpacks you have to worry about.

The more interesting story the better. Please also list what type of knife was doing the cutting. :)

Nothing yet today. But normally my Spyderco Military just opens boxes, annoying plastic packaging, CD wrappers, the occaisional twig or branch, helps me cook......

Food prep with an all black "tactical folder" is so much more fun than with my crappy kitchen knives.

Based on another thread here I sharpened a pencil with my AG Russell Ultimate Pen Knife.

So far I've attacked some cardboard boxes and the shrink wrap on some snack crackers. I'm planning to work my new Kershaw Centofante pretty hard today. I got it yesterday and used the Sharpmaker to put a nice edge on it. Now I want to see how well it holds that edge. I'm hoping that the 440A steel holds up well enough for this to become my new small-sized EDC knife but I have my doubts.

At work, I had lunch at my desk and used a Paramilitary to cut chicken. I hate those little plastic knives!

Ironically, I just finished cleaning the knife in the break room, sat down, and read your post. Weird!

I cut my pants lol, cutting a zip tie toward my leg (big no no) with my mili. I also cut some chicken for lunch, and 2 cardboard boxes. Who knows what the day will bring!!! maybe more chicken?

a crap load of box tape, plastic tape, strapping, shrink wrap, protective tape off fingers and knuckles.

Toughest cut of the day? Opening a plastic clam shell package for somekind of cleaning thingymajiggie for SWMBO (she who must be obeyed)

I sliced up some bread in the morning, for toast.

I cut up a power bar in nice little bite sized pieces while at work, and also sharpened a pencil, and also cut a plastic band off some bundled newspaper. (I work at a medical clinic, we get local newspapers bundled with those tight plastic bands).

I whittled a toothpick from a twig after lunch, and just cut the NYT crossword puzzle out of the paper, both with my trusty Leek!

I opened the plastic wrap on a box of paper clips with my Buck 112 and cut up a cardboard box to use as packing material with my Grip 551 while at work today. I used the buck to clean the dirt from under my nails too, but I didn't cut anything then (thankfully, that would hurt...a lot).
