"What did you cut today?"

2 apples, 1 banana (my coleges are looking strange when they see me cutting a BANANA :D) so far.

well, today at 7:20 am, I cut the middle finger of my right hand.

I am stupid stupid stupid. It was just plain embarrassing. I wasn't jacking off, I was doing something I do 2x times a day, but today I "slipped".

I did it with my BM Leopard Cub.

A 1.375 inch cut (3cm per doc) from just above middle joint (palm side) up to the middle of my finger pad.

Deep too. Bled like a some bitch. You could see all the fat in my finger.

10 stitches. Still oozing blood through the stitches abit. Doc says it will stop.

So i guess this is like a confession of stupidity.

While sharp knives are safer, when something goes wrong witha sharp knife, its a worse..

The tip went in and zip, up the finger.

I feel very foolish and not worthy of a decent knife.

I just demolished a coconut with my Strider SMF!

It was like peeling an egg.......,no problems whatsoever!

Let's see... quartered an apple this morning for breakfast (Mercator lockback), opened two shipping boxes when I got to work (SAK Red Alox Soldier)), sliced open a FedEx envelope (SAK, tears strip broke again). Just about to eat lunch, the sandwich my GF packed is pretty huge, I might cut it in half to improve handling (Mercator). Last night I cut up about a dozen assorted cardboard boxes for recycling (beater CRKT M16-03), and sliced the pork loin we grilled for dinner (Wustoff 6" chef's knife, didn't feel like grabbing the long carver).

here's what i've cut today (so far) grouped by blade;

Harpy;
credit card bills
insurance paperwork envelope

Cricket;
piece of paper to test sharpness

Scallion;
eMac analog board assembly shipping box
65W PowerBook AC adapter box
PowerMac G5 power supply shipping box
iBook keyboard service part box
RAM antistatic bag module for Intel Core Duo iMac 17"

SAK
unscrewed case screws over RAM socket on Core Duo iMac

more to come, it's only 2 PM

I needed to put oil in my car, and the oil "hole" (for lack of a better word) is at an angle (4.6l Ford V8). So I needed a funnel. I rummaged around in the back seat of the car and found a half empty Mountain Dew bottle, cut it in half with my BM710 and used that as a funnel.

Today's my day off, so that's probably the extent of knife usage for me, even though I am playing with a little old Boker stockman as I sit here reading the forum.

Not the newest topic, maybe, but a good one. Back up there.

I covertly deanimated another apple today, and carved a roasted chicken for lunch. :) Used a Queen toothpick. It's my food knife, since it's essentially a folding steak knife.

Nothing serious - just some high density packing foam from a Dell Server box - gave me an excuse to try out my Bryd Crow that I acquired yesterday:D I did use it yesterday to de-animate some copier paper to test the factory edge and cutting a bit of lanyard material (paracord). With any sort of luck I will find other things to cut today for my Delica 4 and Cento 4:)

Opened a bubble pack envelope that contained an Arc AAA-P flashlight I ordered last week. :thumbup: Got here sooner than I thought!

trimmed last year's sucker branches off the bottom of my back yard tree with my Kershaw Outcast, opened clothing boxes for wife.

Walked out to the barn today to feed the dogs and found a mouse in the dog food bag. Killed it with my Ti-Lite VI. Did not tell the wife, as she would accuse me of not keeping the barn clean enough.

My finger, I cut my finger with my Scagel. I was taking a picture of my Scagel, and opening the second blade, when my finger slipped, and I cut myself.

Plastic straps, cardboard, foil pouches. I'll be cutting more cardboard shortly.

A thick juicy Ribeye with a passaround knife none the less, a custom from Warden41272, nice knife

Good slicer! (oh yeah, good steak too, heh)

Only one thing - at the cub scout blue & gold banquet tonight, a little kid had a balloon tied to his wrist, and it tightened down and was cutting into his skin. Of course, they turned to me for a knife. I needed a fine point, so I used my new Paramilitary. First thing I cut with it; I guess rescuing a small child from pain is a good start.

I was there for our regular scout meeting, and as part of our activities I gave a sharpening demonstration. I did a few knives for some of the adults, and they were duly impressed when their formerly butter-knife dull knives were able to skim the hair off their arms.
