Oregon, Thanks for the photos. In March I came upon a Golden Eagle eating on a road killed doe. Even the coyote was standing back waiting his turn and didn't care to tangle with him. DM

Seeing a Golden Eagle in this neck of the woods is quite a rare event. I can't say that I've had the pleasure with certainty. They can be huge and loom over the Bald Eagle. In the high lonesome Eastern Oregon desert I also approached a road kill doe. Three giant birds were close or upon the carcass. In spite of my stealth the larger eagle flew off, then the Bald and lastly the Buzzard. In my excitement I produced no accurate photographic evidence of anything...
