Hey guys,

It's acutally Christmas eve, but I am never the one to wait. So, I am going to share first. When I my AG Russell 2.5 Ti Lockback arrived today. I wore open the package and haven't been able to put down the knife today. It's a nice traditionally inspired knife. Been inspired by Jackknife to get small knifes today. This is a knife thatyou can lose in the pockets and have it there want you need it.

So what did everyone else get for their Christmas ?

God Bless.

For the past couple years our family has agreed to forgo gifts exept for the very young. We had our Christmas feast today and then took the candle light tour of Mount Vernon. Tomorow my cousin is opening his resturaunt to serve a Christmas dinner to familys in crisis from the Montgomery County Social Services. We'll be making sure that the kids from finacialy disadvantaged familys get a good holiday meal and some gifts for the wee ones. We're helping him as servers so his regular employees that have familys can be off.

Having once been laid off, I know how easy it is to fall into dire straits, so I don't mind giving a bit back to those less fortunate than ourselves. "There but for the grace of God " and all that I suppose.

I just got home from the family Christmas eve party. My uncle gave me a bulldog slimline trapper with a very colorful synthetic handle. Another great gift was the "The Dangerous Book For Boys" I haven't fully looked through it yet but on the first page it recommends the "swiss army knife" as a essential for every kid. I like that. We have a tradition and we can open one present Christmas Eve. I opened up a set of knives tonight. I am now happy, the rest of Christmas is just filler. It was a Christmas stocking with 2 Buck Creek knives (from Germany) and one hat. My set of knives is just like in the picture, a skinner with wood handle and a 4" stockman with red bone. Sweet. Not the greatest knives in the world, but a nice gift.

I hope everyone has a good Christmas tomorrow.

Absolutely.... Giving is what its all about

My wife gave me my gift a couple of days ago. It's been in my pocket ever since, as the scratched up bolsters can attest to. Sorry for the bad pics but Santa was up really early. My 6 year old was up @ 6:00.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all.

Merry Christmas to all of you!

While Christmas is personally about spending time with family and friends for me, I'll admit I certainly like the giving and receiving of gifts. It adds a little something to an already great day. Throw in an unusually big breakfest and a big dinner and there's not much to complain about.

My girlfriend knows me well, her gifts this year were perfect. She picked me up a Buck 371 stockman with wood scales and the book already mentioned by camo kid, "The Dangerous Book for Boys". I'm 29 years old, but after skimming the book a little, I'm pretty excited to have received it. Lots of cool bits of knowledge to pass on.

The Buck stockman is suprisingly nice. I EDC an amber bone case stockman with CV blades, I also own a number of other cases, queens, S&Ms, Bokers, Schrades, and a few others. This Buck holds it's own against all of them. While I can't yet comment on edge holding ability of the 420 blades, the walk and talk and fit and finish are just about perfect. Not that I won't put my own edge on it myself, but the blades came as sharp as any Spyderco I've ever owned (and you know that's dang sharp). I'm a big slip joint guy, but I've never really considered Bucks for my carrying rotation. That's all changing now. I think it was because I've always been a fan of carbon blades, but for some reason I just really like this knife, 420 blades and all. It just feels like a big tool, ready to be used up, scuffed, and scrached. I'm getting all excited just thinking about it. Wish I could think of some stuff that needed cutting.

Among other things, and against her wishes, I got her a LM squirt with scissors. I think she's converted, she must of used it last night for various tasks at least 7-8 times, and then kept pulling it out to play with it at least 10more. Oh, and I learned a little something too, no matter how nice and expensive an iron may be, it apparently doesn't make a good gift, thank God she liked the camera...

Anyway, take care all, and enjoy the day!

While not a knife, my lovely bride gave me a S&W Model 22-4 .45ACP revolver for Christmas this year. I received it just before I left on this rotation to Iraq on the 15th. What a lovely lady! I am blessed by God!

I got a Vic Super Tinker and an Ontario RAT-3. I also gave a Vic Super Tinker and several Craftsman 4-war keychain screw drivers.

Sweet looking damascus steel case knife you have got there!

wlifter123,

Please, tell me the author of the book, "The dangerous Book for Boys".? I believe I may have to buy one for myself since I was not the recipient of one this year.

Ron53,

Please stay safe out their in the sand box!

I did pretty good. I got these both from friends. A damascus wharncliffe friction folder with micarta scales and mosaic pin and a single blade camillus rehandled in bloodwood. Both make me very happy. :D

Sunnyd, the authors of " The Dangerous Book for boys" are Conn and Hal Iggulden. The book is assembled is kind of like a textbook with a lot of sketches. It reminds me of the "pocket Ref" but geared for kids. Joe

My wife gave me this one today. It's a 7 dot 6233, made the year I was born. Carbon steel blades, nickle silver liners and it walks and talks like a pocket knife should.
I'm a lucky guy that my wife will take the time and go to the trouble to find me something like this. Thats the best gift, still the knife is pretty cool to.;)
Merry Christmas everybody, I hope you are all well fed and with family and friends.

had a Remington slippy given to me by a good friend before he left on his Xmas Vacation... and got the AG Russell sheath from the wife & kids... also got a new set of Razor Sharp sharpening wheels , a new leather office chair for the PC desk... and some gun cleaning supplies and AMMO !!!

i got several other thoughtful little gifts, and a beautiful poem from a good friend. and of course i got to spend most of the day with family and friends that i hardly see except for the holidays.
