A few weeks or so ago I saw an Emerson in a photo in the "what's in your pocket right now?" thread. I got to wondering why I have never owned an Emerson? I started reading around and spent some time on the website. I came to the conclusion I needed to own at least one. I tried to make my mind up for a week. I watched YouTube videos I read more. It was maddening trying to make up my mind. I decided to go with the knife I looked at the most which was the 7A. I posted in here to see what you folks thought and the responses were good. Okay, so I purchase the knife and I seem to settle down. It's on the way and this madness will be over soon. It arrives and it is GOOD. I post some photos and you are happy for me. My Buds like the knife and act as though they want one as well. This should be over right? I should keep it sharp, toss it in my pocket and go forth into the world. But the last two days I am still reading post and hittin the Emerson website and checking prices and availability on all the online stores. Wow that's cool and that's awesome and how about that "Snubbie"? Do I want a frame lock? Should I get one and Mod it. Come on guys WTF! When does this stop? I havn't put this 7A down since I got it. I have flipped it open countless times, and I am forever tinkering with it. Just a happy rant! Thanks for listening. :D

It dosnt stop, it just gets worse

I dont even want to think about the money and time I spend on EKIs and moding them.

Ahhh, good times :D:thumbup:

Well, I could have worse habits. Outside of knife gathering I drink Scotch and smoke cigars (about 4 a week) and when ever possible try to find a spot where I can hit 140mph or better on my scooter. The knife thing is by far the least unhealty.:D I have created a small list of the Emerson's I would like to acquire. It's funny, I have to hide the list, not the knives from my Wife. She knows the list means, soon to be purchased. She pays no attention to the knives themselves. All in good spirit...

I'm so lucky in that respect. My better half tells me I should get that Super Raven Tanto :D

Baba,
Sounds like I am in your Emerson wake. I am waiting for my
Emerson Knife CQC-7A-SF from action ACTION CONCEPTS . While waiting I am trying to decide which Emerson will be next. Leaning towards the Horseman.
PS How long did it take for your 7A to get to you from AC?

Boyzz,Not a lot of excitement for this ole bugger these days. But I'll tell you what, with these new Emerson's coming in weekly..who needs Viagra :D:p

The mail just came in, the mini A-100 is here!! For me as an edc, it's beyond perfect. It's better than I had visioned for size, gall darn I really really likes it.

It was so difficult for me to decide which to purchase. The 7A or the A-100? I tossed it around for a week. I knew I wanted a SP non wave with satin finish. The overall size of my two choices were very close. I am greatly pleased with the A7 though. But the Mini A-100 is in my sights! :D

You need to consider the Commander or CQC-8 for their very different style of handle.

Oh I would take a CQC-8 for sure. The blade config on that thing would be an excellent slicer dicer and great for Boar and Whitetail skinning!
The design on the Commander I would have to warm up to... :D

Congrats - looks to be an awesome EDC.

Do you have pics? :D

I looking around to see whats available in fixed blade Emersons. I have seen a few daggers and some karambits. Are there others?

You need to check out the CQC-16 Bushman as well, I should have included it with the others. It has the same handle with a broad clip point.

Okay, You got me with the CQC-16. That would be perfect. Actually that would be an outstanding fixed blade design. which leads me to "stabman's" post regarding the "Police Utility" that is a darn good looking knife also. As I sit here typing and reading I notice the 7A won't do too awful bad in the field. But I am going to add the CQC-16 to the list. Thanks "Esav" good suggestion!

Get both!:)

The CQC-7A is very similar to the Blackbird -- or the older version that I have, the Raven. It is a general-purpose utility knife. I call it my Gentleman's Tactical. They are all Emersons so the ergonomics are all good, but for a super grip, the Commander, CQC-8 and Horseman, and the CQC-16 Bushman are the best.

I think the CQC-16 may be the first knife that Emerson made that is not specifically a tactical knife, but actually a hunting knife.
