What did you lot EDC today?

that guy would have made me my first pair of pugs pants :D, what gives?

Yeah very true, but he was pretty big to mess with.

You let a good pair of shoes and a matching handbag get away?

Funny I watched Crocodile Dundee last night, he could have handled that for you with ease.

I didn't realize you had them sort of critter that fer north. One more thing for me to keep in mind when I come to visit.

Heck man were in the south brother, have em everywhere around here, ya gotta be careful when out wandering. I usually have a pistol on me, but he was not looking to mess with us and we were ok with that, so just took a few pics and walked on. Doors always open man.

Best way to handle it. Unless of course you had a tag for them...or are a relative of the local game warden :D
But I agree that would make one heck of a pair of pants for a GCB...

Yep, no tags yet for em but the season is coming.

Thats awesome Pugs! A Manjushree in one hand and the CGB in the other! I bet your daughter wasnt skared a bit. She knew daddy would take care of her;) I grew up with them big lizzards too. And they are better than chicken!

Better than chicken by quite a lot, yummy! A nice chunk of gator tail with garlic and season-all and a few green onions and other seasonings including those tiny little "stinky" dried shrimp, then cooked down with a rue until it gets all deep and rich, then ladel it over some rice. Oh man is that good eating. Or fried in a bit of corn-meal flour oh man, I haven't had gator since I moved up to this end of the world. That and home canned figs for my biscuits, I was missing those this morning. Maybe time to call my aunt and see if she has a jar or 2 I can trade her something for. About the only thing I miss about my small town southern home town is the food. Man oh man, the lunch ladies at the school took good care of us when I was a kid. I could as the southern-ism goes "eat myself sick on some of that". hmm time to go see if there is any good leftovers in the fridge. Think there is some of hubby's fried catfish left, farmed, not channel cat, but you take what you can get up here and ignore the chemically aftertaste LOL.

Yep you got it, or maybe the GCB and pistol just in case. My little one handled it very well, she was actually very calm, but stayed very close to daddy. Just have to respect them and you will be ok. Just before this guy came up, we spotted this guy down in the brush just off the walkway catching some shade, a little smaller but still has teeth!!

Respect them I do! My terrier is named Boudreaux. Reason is because he was a hurricane self rescued dog from gator infested waters and he lived to bark about it. My inlaws lived on Taylors Bayou in east TX for many years where there used to be a restaurant called "The Boondocks" (and it was). They were famous because you could feed the alligators from the deck over the water while you drink beer, eat fried gator and catfish, and try not to fall over the rail:D. They loved hushpuppies and french fries but probably ate dang near anything. The restaurant has long been closed and my inlaws have moved away but the gators are still there in mass. They never really bothered us but when the water came up you had to be extra careful because they would come up to places they normally don't like the front porch or any other dry land for that matter and sunbathe.

Well I just looked at a map and I guess I figured you was further north, both North and South are more south than I figured.

Other than the shape of the food intake Crocs and Alligators all are the same to me. I'll be on full alert status if I get "DOWN" to your neck of the woods.

lucky for me, here in NC in charlotte, we only have water moccasins, aka cottonmouths, eastern diamondback rattlesnakes, timber rattlesnakes, copperheads, in abundances, lol

I'm starting to think I'll stay on my side of the Mississippi. Maybe the Northern half of my side of the continent. I don't care much for them slithering critters and such.

I recall as a kid fishing my grandpa's pond for Blue Gill and Perch, great fun till I seen a slitherer swimming in my pond. Grandpa told me to watch out for them Water Moccasins. Fishing weren't near as appealing after that...........................

Haha them gators don't worry me. It's the crocs you gotta watch out for!
, in your neck of the woods aka florida, it is sharks, gators, crocs, big constrictor snakes. a the usual pit vipers, like cottonmouths, rattlesnakes, copperheads. and the occasional coral snake.

Some of the traditional knife guys call it CE&CF... chicken eye'n and coon fingerin'.

Here PUGS, this was my view after i almost stepped on a cottonmouth.

. this is the wrong way to do it folks, lol.

I live in a swamp that feeds the hatchie river, there is a copper head that has been living in my front yard all summer, ran into him like 6 times. I figure he has not bitten me nor mine so I am giving him time to move on, but the toads may be too much of a temptation for him to stay. I really really don't like killing anything, but I really really don't want anyone injected with hemotoxins.

copperheads are masters of camoflage, i hate em. they hide under rotten logs, near stagnant water, and in leaf litter. and they get FAT.

Ohh man, that looks very close man, nasty critters they are, we have em as well along with the copperheads. Being neighbors we have alot of things that will hurt ya good if not careful. A good pair of snake boots are in order if ya want to go trekking in the woods. Man thats one healthy snake man.

this was in my back yard, lol.

wonder if he could be made into a sheath:P

The skin is real thin but I bet it could be stacked over some regular leather or something. I've got a 4-5 foot diamondback skin around here somewhere, rattle and all.
