What did you spend your ZT-0777 money on?

I agree the wait for the ZT0777 has been long...perhaps too long. But as knife collectors, many (not all) are looking for the "perfect" blade. Until the 777 gets released, we will not know how perfect this blade is. I think there are many manufacturing complexities that are delaying the project. I'm sure ZT is painfully aware of this. I just hope ZT understands that this delay with the MT copy has somewhat stolen their momentum...a very difficult thing to achieve in a consumer driven market. (Actually the MT copy may have added to the market drama a bit...probably a good thing. ZT just needs to capitalize on this before people either forget or just drop orders...as is starting to happen).

So, we patiently wait, and hope the 777 is all we hoped it would be. Having said that, a flawless product will forgive many sins...
 
I like the Megumi - I handled that at Blade.

The knife stands out in a crowd (of other knives that is).

Just another in a long list of knives I would love to own.

Same boat. Making do with a ZT 560, Viper Keeper and a Starzaan arrives tomorrow. It wouldn't take much arm twisting in the future to jump on a 0777, but the "must have" feel is somewhat diminished.
 
Just curious how Thomas can be taking time off (like he did once before) when it says he was banned by moderators? Banned seems like there is a lot more to it.

Edit: I thought the 0777 was $450 when first announced? When did it go up another $150?
 
Banned by moderators, hasn't been used here since I first came here under a banned member's name. Now it just says, plain "banned".
 
I think that patience is a virtue that has been lost in these "I want it now" times. I think that if some people can't have it right now then they whine and complain. As if this knife is absolutely needed by them. As if their life is contingent on the ownership of a folding knife. As if this knife is owed to you. Whaaaa! Where's my knife? I want it now. Whaaaa!

Good thing that none of you whiners live in a country where you have to wait for actual important things like medical assistance.
 
Actually if you go to the link you provided on the first page, it says "banned by moderators" under his name. But that is just symantics. It still says he is banned and not taking a break on his own free will.

I was accused of being condescending in another thread because I insinuated that some people have bigger problems than the pain and suffering caused by waiting for their expensive knife to be made. I did not even use the term "expensive toy".

Patience is a virtue.

They will be done when it's done.

You're 100% sure about that? Some make it sound like that will not be the case at all. Some act as thought their life force is already fading.

It's just enough already. We know, we all know that the knife isn't out yet. We all know it's taking a long time. We know. Get over it. Like mqqn said, they'll be done when they're done. Right now I am praising Kershaw/ZT for not wanting to release any information on any new models because all announcements do is bring on the nonstop complaining of impatient whiners when they don't have the knife in their hands within a few weeks, months, or even a year or two. Boo hoo. :rolleyes:

Why is this thread in General and not in Whine and Cheese?

Speculate much? Thomas was not banned involuntarily. It was self-imposed. There isn't going to be any more details provided other than what Jim posted in the Kershaw forum. It really is nobody's business anyway.

Keep this thread on topic or it gets closed.

EDIT: On second thought, it's sufficiently off topic already.
