Mods, if this thread already exists (I did several searches but came up empty) or is a dumb idea for a thread, feel free to take it down.

So there are threads about "What's your EDC" or "What are you totin today" but I haven't seen any threads about what our precious tools are actually being used for on a day to day basis. I'm a member of several other forums, one of them being for Jeeps. We don't like to see pictures of our rigs sitting in driveways or in parking lots, we like to see them being used for what they were intended for! Let's see and hear about more of our knives in action. Maybe this could be combined with the "What's your EDC" thread, and have it be what did you carry today and what did you do with it?

Yay?

Nay?

Just a thought. :D

Hello :) Long time reader, new poster here.

I EDC an Olight M10 Maverick and ZT 0350ST. I work the night shift so tonight I used my M10 on low to provide illumination while I locked the doors and stuff on my way out . My new and first ever knife, the ZT 0350ST ($100 well spent, very satisfied, no my wallet isn't in danger...I hope) didn't get to see much use today since I was indoors the whole time.

There's a long running thread in the multitool section about daily MT/SAK use. You might find some interesting stuff there.

Anyway, today I used the scissors on a Leatherman Style CS to cut some medical tape. I used my BM 275 Adamas to open a box of gauze and then trim a ridiculously long elastic bandage to the size I needed, I also cut some rope. I had lunch at my ranch, a lovely half cow roasted on a spit, you just cut pieces off with your knife while sitting on logs around the fire (used my Adamas again).

Used my brand-spanking-new (just got it yesterday) CRKT Folts Minimalist Wharncliffe (my new co-edc along with my Mini Grip) to cut shrink wrap, plastic bag containing an article of clothing that arrived in the mail today, the box and plastic wrap keeping me from my so-so frozen pizza, a couple of those obnoxious plastic things that holds tags on clothes and a small piece of bicycle inner tube. That's it so far.

Not a lot today. Used my CRK small Insingo to open a box for my wife, cut a sandwich in half for lunch, and cut the foil off a bottle of Grey Goose. Not hard use by any means :)

Today my Cold Steel mini Tuff Lite opened up the mail, sliced up a pack of hot dogs for lunch, cut some paracord, and took down some cardboard boxes.

Used my Protech TR3 to trim a piece of rubber hose and a rubber gasket for a toilet fill valve, used the scissors on my sak to trim a couple wild mustache/beard hairs

I used my Ontario Utilatac 2 and Leatherman mini tool to cut,pry and pull the piece of paracord that was wrapped up in the washing machine.Guys seriously check your pockets for paracord before your shorts get thrown it the wash! It is a real pain in the BEEP to get it out once it gets wrapped up! Oh yeah and it is not a good idea to tell your wife that she should have checked all the pockets before she washed your clothes. My Utilatac also cut open the frozen pizza I am cooking myself for dinner tonight :o

Good thread idea.

I ended up using my Caly 3 CF to open a few packages, cut loose some rogue fibers on my pants and cut some tags off new clothing.

Sliced up an apple for a snack at work with my Case Small Texas Jack. I used my pocket flashlight too, but this is a knife forum so not worth mentioning.

Spent the day with some family members kids, going to several activities in places for them, so I went with my orange RAT II, enough knife for most stuff, and "sheeple" friendly.

The only thing I use my knife for is cutting the tape off the box of the new knife I just bought....

Starting to think about I might sell m pro tech tr4 auto, and my paramilitary 2 camo with black blade.

Carried a Spyderco Paramilitary 2 and a Victorinox Spartan. Used the Spartan to open up a bag of chips, open a beer bottle, and used the tooth pick. I used the Para 2 to open some packages I got in the mail, and cut them down into sizes that would fit in the trash.

Used my small Insingo to pierce holes in the lids of water bottles for my kids--they like to use it like a spout-top and squirt water in their mouths.

Then, I used it to cut some carpet to size for a bottom pad for the crate my Doberman sleeps in...

I used my Anza to open a package from Amazon (new watch), also whittled a bit with SAK Recruit if that counts for use. Impromptu entertainment.

Sadly nothing. Couldn't resist being on the same page as Daenerys Stormborn yada yada yada.

Cut some paper, opened some boxes, stripped some wire, cut some shrink wrap, stuck it in a wooden table a couple times, and used it to pry open a door on a nail gun. My Sirius is such a great knife

I used my Endura to open a couple boxes and to shorten the length of the straws in my kids drinks when we went out to dinner :)

I used my frackin brand new ZT 0550 to decimate a cardboard box. And by decimate, I mean I sliced the tape open on the ends very gently and then flicked the blade open and closed 450 times.
