What did you use your SAK for today?

I really put the knot-untangling capability of my Explorer's corkscrew to the test yesterday at my parents' house. There was a set of Venetian blinds that were uneven and couldn't be readjusted because the four pull cords connected to the ends of the blinds were--how should I put it?---braided together is the best way to describe the tangled snarl of 1/8 inch cords. But braided very badly; I suspect I or one of my siblings did it when we were kids. Fifteen years of pulling on the cluster of cords to raise and lower the blinds had tightened this knot beyond all hope of loosening it by hand. I wish I had taken a picture of it!

Anyway, the corkscrew took about five minutes to untie the knot and separate all of the cords.

Used an Old Cross to open a package from overseas.

Both of my saks had a busy day today... I started by using the swisschamp to take the leather strap of of a knife sheath so it would fit in my jacket pocket. I then used my pioneer to open a package of helicoils so I could fix the spark plugs in one of our butt saws. After that the pioneer got used again to tighten the air intake clamps on our chipper while we put it back together after replacing the injector pump. I trimmed a broken thumbnail with the scissors on the swisschamp, and finally used the pioneer to help pry off the handle scales on two old cleavers a buddy of mine gave me after cutting the rivets with a hacksaw. Only have one picture... My work partners give me all sorts of grief if I stop to take knife pictures while we're working.

Edit to add: the pliers on the swisschamp were also used to put washers over the muffler studs on the saw I was working on, because my fat fingers wouldn't fit.
