what did you use your umnumzaan for today?

I didn't want to see something like this... oh crap.
Maybe it's good that it bent and didn't break, I don't know.
Not a good thing to see.

I can see a tip of a knife bending when hitting a mother board. Those things are really hard if you take a closer look with copper and gold sometimes weaved into them. I once tried to saw through one mother board and it destroyed the steel saws teeth. I gave up and used a angle grinder.

Sorry about the tip of your knife, guess you wont be messing with another tellie tubbie soon? :D;)

Lol, no, the tubbie got the best of me :)

That makes sense, I was actually doing some research on g-10 monday and read an article about how motherboard material comes from the same family as g-10 material.
I got home and am checking for surface marks on the stone floor here, just to make sure. but I guess you're probably right.

So, can anyone tell me how to make a tanto from my umnumzaan :D

I agree 100% Very Well Put !

I'll just keep spamming here..
today I used my umnumzaan as a supermodel for my photoshoot for a post in the maintenance, tinkering and embellishment section. It seems the model is a little out of shape...She'll have to be bent back into shape. Used to be very edgy too.
warning: what you may see in the next post when clicking on the link might shock CRK owners

I think the, although unfortunate, bent tip, demonstrates the, ''toughness'' Chris Reeve has been able to produce from S30V with his heat treat process. I am really surprised it didn't break off.

Yeah, the Rockwel hardness might have to do something with it.

There's a post in the maintenance, tinkering and embellishment subforum about how I pretty much fully restored the umnumzaan and it's edge (minus a little bit of rolled over tip and chipped edge) and some conclusions on my part. Check it out here http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=746005

The umnum's back!!
tubbies: 1
