Family and I went camping this past weekend with some friends. I was finally able to put my new RC-4 to some more serious work. I built a couple figure 4 traps (didn't catch anything),sharpened hot dog sticks, carved a few feather sticks, battoned some wood to start a fire, cut the tops off of many freezee's for the kids, and prepared a Greek salad. It did all this among other camp tasks with no problem.

I really like this knife, it wasn't the best chopper out there, but that's what his big brothers are for I guess. This should be a good camp / work knife for years to come. The knife is built like a brick crap house, I can't ever see needing to use the great warranty on it.

I didn't take any pictures, but I will be sure to get some on future outings.

So what did you and your ESEE's do this weekend?

Cheers,

Sorry to say no woods related tasks. I did use my much beloved RC-6 to prepare corn on the cob for the grill.
Any day I use the 6 is a good day:D

Wife & I waded thru the local Creek fishing and letting her try out her new Screaming Eagle Pink Izula & her practicing making fire...man was it freaking hot & Humid Saturday here in TX

well yesterday i used my izula to open a lot of junk mail and destroy its contents. i know i know not the weekend ;)

I used my Izula for plenty of utility work and made my 4 jealous. They did convince me to order a Junglas and Izula scales though. I got my scales yesterday and love them.

I should have been at Glastonbury festival, but I managed to save myself a ton of money and a sore head by standing on a nail at work which meant I couldn't go!

Instead I spent the weekend at home sorting out my kit ready for summer, checking my tarps and fishing tackle after winter storage, reproofing my boots, and learning how to pack my new Vulture II. I was also gonna convex my RC-4, but I got the fear of ruining it so I just gave it a strop and put the job off AGAIN!

Used my Izula to help a friend pack and then unpack entire household stuff. They moved to their own home from a rented place. Cutting duct tape, cord etc etc....

Hi Diesel_Dog -

Mine sat in the local post office waiting to be delivered to me...

I ordered it last weekend, and although it showed in tracking to be at my P/O, it did not make it to the house Saturday as I had hoped.

However, it did arrive last night!!

I'll take the obligatory pictures and have them posted here as soon as possible.

I really like my new ESEE - the Izula model.

best regards -

Sat in a box. :grumpy:

I did give the Izula a new handle wrap though. The 180 Katana wrap seen on WilliamCutting08's YouTube channel. Black and silver cord. Reminds me of old school prison uniforms. :p

Hiked in Harriman State Park with JV3 and messed around with the Junglas, RC4, Izula and some beckers. He should have pics on the way. Was a lot of fun, the Junglas is one beefy knife.

I like my RC4, though the edge grind is annoying at times. I kind of want to have it reground to a scandi grind or a true FFG. Now I need to send an email lol.

Was out riding with my brother and stopped and had a couple of cold Orange Crush.Glass bottles so i used my H.E.S.T. to open mine! :) Opener worked great on the twistcaps! :D

Had some 'round the house work to do... used the Izzy to cut vines and small branches, cut through some jury rigging on our dryer duct work in the crawlspace (had to re-plumb it). Cut up a bunch of boxes... nothing fancy.

I sharpened some pencils with my Izzy, then I gave it a basket weave wrap for a bit of extra grip.

Made one hell of a sandwich today with my izula, no woods related tasks as of yet. That's in 2 weeks when I go scouting for deer.

Had a fantastic long weekend. Yesterday myself, my wife and a few friends went fishing. Today we took our God-Daughter fishing. Took along our new Izulas and my Becker Campanion. Great tools to have, Izula around my neck and BKII in the pack. Tomorrow slow smokin' some ribs!

My ESEE hasn't arrived yet (hell, I just ordered it Friday) so I had to use my ZT0350 to cut some ribs and other tasks. Oh the inhumanity.
