I think ive cut more things with the victorinox signature than anything else...ive had it for 15+ years and still going strong... this one was free:

The vic classic is an excellent value for around $10

I can't recommend the Ka-Bar Dozier Hunter Folding Knife (3" Satin Plain) 4062 enough. It's a lockback with an AUS-8A blade, pocket clip and zytel scales (no liners) makes this a perfect (for me) daily pocket knife. It's $20.50 from BladeHQ.

as well as all my moras, victorinox and some Cold Steel offerings in 4116 steel (Roach Belly, etc.)

Boker Plus has some traditionals sourced from China that are very good. Better than Rough Rider, in about the same price range. So far they have a handful of patterns and few scale choices, mainly delrin-like smooth plastic in a few colors. They offer a stockman, punch stockman, small stockman, trapper, a lockback, hawkbill, maybe a couple more patterns I'm forgetting. Steel is specified 440C, but whatever it is, is in fact very good. Unlike the Rough Rider/Colt/Marbles lines, Boker's wares have brushed steel finished blades rather than mirror-finish buffed. The Bokers have excellent F&F. I'd easily put these up against any Case, and into GEC territory. Boker needs to offer more variety in this line!
