My school does not let any knives at all so I can not carry a knife I have to care scissors in my bag.
The scissors I carry are some EMT shears. I also carry a microstream.

What do you carry?

I wish Victoniox made a multitool with Scissors, a can and bottle opener, and a Philips screwdriver. I would jump on that.

Leatherman makes some multi tools with scissors only. My high school had a policy against knives, but many people carry them where anyone could see them clipped to their pocket. If I carried a knife at school then I just did not clip it so it was not visible. Most people do not notice. Most of us that carried knives had some sort of workshop class as wood shop or were just very discrete about it. Not saying break you school rules at all just sharing my experience. I would recommend any multitool (I like Leatherman if you have the cash) and you already have a flashlight. What else do you need at school really. My edc was phone, wallet, keys, knife, and a pen. The cool things about defense or "tactical pens" is that people do not pay enough attention to notice if you have a cool looking pen that could be used as a defensive tool.

The Veterans Administration Hospital does not allow weapons of any sort. My feeling is that is a target rich environment with only the campus cops armed. I have to make a concious effort to remove my knife before going in.

I find leatherman scissors to really suck. If I have any knife and I am found with it I will be kicked out. I go to a very liberal school. I need a good pair of scissors that I can carry all the time easily

Klein Telecom Scissors, carry them everyday at work. They cut zip ties, cable, wire, anything in a fraction of the time that a knife does. I still carry a knife, but for some things I do in a day at work, scissors make much more sense.

i was just going to buy a pair of electricians scissors at the garret wade booth at maker faire. they were on sale there but i thought I could find them cheaper online. I was wrong :grumpy:
for pocket carry Idk.

They cost about $12-$15 at any big box hardware store. Doesn't get much cheaper than that really.

Leatherman and Wenger make TSA approved pocket knives. They may not be school approved however.

My high school had a no weapons policy including knives, I still carried one everyday for four years ( I miss that old SOG) and the college i attend and have been for 3 years prohibits many items they define as weapons including knives. Still hasn't deterred me from carrying my SOG powerlock in my back pocket and Bawidamann POGN in my bag, i even have a can of OC spray in there too. I just don't believe in paying to attend a place where you are required to be defenseless....thats just my opinion though.

As for your initial question if you are dead set on walking the narrow road so to speak , then try to find a Leatherman Fuse maybe on the secondary sites since they are discontinued or even a Leatherman PS style that they sell at wal mart for like 20.00

Good luck!

Everyone else has given the multi tool/utility scissors answer, but if that's not an option I have two ideas. The first is to make one of those prison cigarette butt knives. I did it once just for the f of it, and they can get surprisingly sharp. Just google "prison cigarette filter knife".
The second idea is to order a small arrow head on eBay or some other site, then take one of the sides to a whetstone or some concrete. That can get scary sharp. These would only be good for small stuff like packages or tape or whatever, but what will they say? "You can't carry a rock or an old cigarette butt!".

If it was me, I would just say screw it and carry my blade.

Consider a Kershaw Two Can, ya don't say how old you are our what grade your in, presuming that your over 18 and out of the public (HS) school system, I'd go with the Two Can just keep in mind that if you go against school policies and get caught you will have to pay the consequences.

why would you need a knife in school anyway? to clean your fingernails or cut a hanging thread from a textbook?
