I see one for sale for $25. The guy says it is new and never used... What do you guys think about it. Is any more comfy then other hammocks??? Been realy checking out light weight tents and just seen this one for sale.

I asked the same question a while back and the general response was that they are really heavy, so I went with just a tarp. I still want to get one though just to try it, I just went with something I knew would work for me.

I think you should try it, although like I said lots of members here told me it wasn't all that lightweight. Clark Jungle Hammocks are really light though so, if you have a bunch of money that could be an option too.

There are a lot of better choices, especially if you're looking for light weight gear. The GI hammocks can also be a bit tricky to find a good location for because of all of the extra lines for the top.

There've been a lot of discussions on here about hammocks. Try googling "hammock site:bladeforums.com"

I've got a Byer of Maine Moskito Traveler hammock (http://www.byerofmaine.com/amazonas-traveller.htm) and a light silnylon tarp that have served me very well for both backpacking and car camping.

It's hard to go wrong for 25 bucks though. If you're not too concerned about the weight, the GI may be a good buy for you.

I got one of these Byer of Maine Moskito Traveler hammock on the way soon for the warmer parts of year. I have one their regular one without the net and I loved it during the summer. With the exception that I had to have a separate mozzie net with it. Can't wait to use it.

My friend has one of those GI ones made out of canvas with a net/roof combo and he hates it. It rained really bad one day and the thing weighed a ton! Even before it got wet it had some heff to it.

Thanks guys you have answered my Q. That after posting it i realized how badly i wrote it lol. I wanted something to go backpacking with, For rain or if the Vampires are out for blood. Im going to pass on this one and keep looking for a light weight tent.

I use the Clark Jungle Hammock. My first was the Tropical model and now I use a North American model in the camo. They are fantastic hammock and lightweight, but a bit more expensive. They are American made and are of very high quality construction. They are also more versatile in setup than most others check em out at junglehammock.com
