What do people think of the mini fixed blades?

Do you think this is a good design? I kinda like it, kinda don't see the point. The proportions look funny, too. I'm not sure what it's for... I guess a last ditch defensive blade? Maybe it's just a small fixed blade to EDC and do utility tasks?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

They make better small fixed blade knives for self defense. I think they hope it will be attractive for those that like that style knife, looks like it would be a useful EDC Knife for most day to day chores. And especially for those that cannot carry a larger one for legal reasons or a more stealth approach around non knife folks.

I like them, mainly for small EDC knives, sort of like a folder that doesn't fold.

I'm not sure about that design but I like some others from CS such as the Mini-Tac series. I'd really have to hold one first.

I used to have a Ready Edge which came in handy at times, and still have my Mini Pal which I rarely used since IMO it is too small, though for the Min Pal the issue is the tiny handle.

You showed CS Mini Leatherneck
But it's not mini (by name only) - it got 3 1/4" blade
Many people use 3" blades all around and don't call them mini :^)

I got several mini knives, micro knives
Most used as neck knives or shirt pocket knives
Or as funny to see it :^))))

I, too, am not sure if I like these. It seems like there is just too much going on for such a small fixed blade. Too much guard, too fat a handle, etc.... I'm of the school that a mini fixed blade should be flat, and super easy to carry, like the Mini-Tac's., those are really nice.

The Kyoto line seems interesting though. It might be a good mix between "too much" and "not enough".

Mini Leathernecks are so cheap so anybody may have three with different blades :^)

If we on CS backyard I like Mini Tuffs, Mini Tacs, Kyotos too
Not only them, Trail Masters are Maxi Me with maxi pleasure

Its a mini compared to the original knife it is taken from. For me anything shorter than 4" is a mini, but I like larger knives since I can carry them legally.

I actually really like the design…was about to purchase all 3 blade shapes but decided against it. In the end I felt they should have used a better steel (ie. aus10) and a different “country of origin”.

Thanks for the heads up….I actually ended up ordering a Peacemaker 3 due to your post on the Tokyo Spike. I was going to get the Tokyo Spike but it almost looks like a shank instead of a knife
(I still think it’s neat though). Trying to control any impulse buying urges:)

Well, I am not helping matters, am I? 😁
I totally understand, I need another knife like I need a hole in the head. Enjoy that Peacemaker! You can trim back the ears on the sheath if you want. However, consider how you want to carry it before trimming. If carrying IWB or in a boot, you will want the ears even on both sides so it's easier to re-sheath the knife. I trimmed back for belt carry, now wishing I was not so aggressive.

I have a number of CS small/mini fixed blades. I really like them and keep buying them, will probs continue to do so until I get all of them.

Have always preferred small fixed blades over large folders.

Not everyone likes small fixed blades but for those of us that do, we really like them.

CS does a great job in this niche.

You cannot beat the quality and price. At least the ones I own have the look and feel of their bigger brothers. I was surprised by the quality, I was thinking they would be more of a noventy/throw away quality knife. I have a user of this too. Super cheap back then.

That was the same version I had.

The old style hard plastic sheath failed so I lost it.

It only cost me $9.00 in 1990.
