What do Real Military Men/Women Carry

approx 15 years time in service and still on active. CPT promotable (I just made the Majors list) Infantry and returned last November from a year long trip to wonderful Baghdad.
I carried a collection of knives which I rotated out ie I didn't always carry the same knife on a day to day basis.
Knives I carried,
TOP's I believe it is the Firehawk (can't remember)
Buck Nighthawk
Cold Steel Kukri
Benchmade (Auto)
Gerber
Leatherman
American Tomahawk
Spyderco Endura
Benchmade non auto
Swis Army Knife

I was given an old Solingen "Original Bowie Knife" with a stainless steel blade which was given to me by my Iraqi "Strike Platoon" leader.
That knife once I can get it cleaned up (find someone who can clean it up for me) with go into a display!

Can you tell I like knives!!

The TOP's knife was always attached to my IBA so it was always with me on mission.

I want one of Neilson's knives for my next deployment!! I'm thinking of the Midnight Rider II!!!!!! I love that knife design!! It is tooooooooooo pretty to use but there is no reason to buy something that you won't use at least once!!!

We ship knives to military personnel overseas every day. We have shipped 10's of 1000's of them. I don't believe there is a brand or model that wouldn't be included in the list of those 1000's. What do military people carry? About the same things everybody else carries. We even fill orders for various field commanders for larger quanties of knives. That list is almost as varied as the regular list. The commander buys whatever appeals.

A good sak and a Grohmann jump knife is what I carried for my time in. The jump knife was the stainless steel, about 4 inch blade. It was wet all the time (snow, rain) and never had a problem, always sharpened well.

I think if I was still in, I would add a multi-tool. Seems to be a handy piece of kit from what people are saying.

I carry a Spyderco Military SE, a CRKT M16-04Z, and I hope to have my Cold Steel Vaquero here soon.BTW active duty Marine.

Some of my Navy friends carry Winkler belt knives.

A recently met on guy that carries a blood shark made by Dan Stanchfield.
And a lot of Emerson.
