What do think about my new site?

Hi, in the last month I've been transitioning my work gallery from imgur to my own website.

From the get go, my idea was to make a photo gallery not a lot of text site, a let the work speak for itself kind of website... a gallery!

So with that idea in mind I began my search for a good platform and found a gallery called piwigo which provided exactly what I needed, a solid platform with years of development and oriented to images.

Already loaded most of my work to date. Adding photos was the easy part, finding the right way (at least for me) to categorize and tag was a ton, many tons! of work, but the result makes me very happy, I do not rely on google to search within the site, you can quick search by tags for any specific subset of knives.

Say for example you want to search for ebony kitchen knife, you just enter that at the quicksearch and they all show there! same for green micarta santoku or hunter with bolster or any combination you may be interested.

Also every picture has social networks links so you can ask me about particular knife using social networks, say for example FB messenger

I mostly cater the local Argentina market, but nowadays the world is also the market, so I did my best to make it bilingual, stretching the posibilities of the platform, if an item is only in spanish its because I found no way to make it automatically switch to english.

It was done all by myself, with the help of google, html5 tutorial sites and the platform developers forum. Its 100% desktop/mobile friendly.

Please let me know what you think, criticize and suggest improvements: www.peu.net

Thanks!!

Pablo, I like it. As an English speaker only, I had no problems navigating the site. Usually, high photo content site are very slow to load, but not so with yours. Although, I am running high speed internet.
I can see you have put a lot of work into the site and have done a good job. I wish you much success!

When it comes to making knives, I am as green as it gets, but websites I have done a fair bit of work with. Your site is great, easy to navigate, loads great, great colors. Beautiful knives with a beautiful webpage to showcase your skill. Great work!

Looks nice

Love the black and red friction folder :)

Thanks guys, its encouraging to read these comments! I would say I put a lot of love into it but it sounds so corny, but its the truth.
I'm talking with the developers about the quick search box location, from my usability point of view, where its now (inside the menu entry) is not the best place.

Good site, good photo's

I'd only sugest the function to switch between languages if you aim for the international market

its there! on desktop there is a flag that allows you to switch from english/spanish, on mobile the second pulldown from the top on the homepage does the same.

To improve usability moved the search function outside the menu entry to the main menu, and on mobile its the first thing you see when you display the pull down menu.
IMHO far better than before.

Nice, the galleries do a great job of showing your work. Making language an option might help the site look a little cleaner overall, but it looks good.
