What do we call ourselves?

I was wondering how to refer to those who share our particular hobby (obsession?). I always thought "knife nut" or "knife collector" to be a little lame. I picture a knife collector as someone who buys high-end custom knives and puts them away in a glass case, just to look at and occasionally fondle. For me, 99% of my knives are used to do everyday chores, whether the current EDC is a $35 CRKT or a $200 Microtech. Does that make me a "knife user"? How about a "cutlery enthusiast"?

Any suggestions?
 
Cutlery enthusiast ist just too long. What about "edgusiast"?
But I'm just kidding. In German we should have another expression, but here's the same Problem: We have something like "knife-lover". Stupid! If You ever find somthing really perfect, I'd love to translate it.

We can call ourselves whatever we want -- we carry sharp knives! ;)

"Knife nuts" isn't so bad, is it? I don't think there's gonna be anything as short. And this term is so common that I doubt it will be overtaken by a new fantasy name.
 
When you say "Knife Knuts" you have to be sure to include that extra "K" in front of nuts, or else it looks like we're all crazy, or something.:D:D:D

Actually, "knife nuts" sound like some kind of snack food for cutlery enthusiasts.
 
I like "knife knut" but i keep hearing "crazy", or "insane" for some reason from those less educated;)

I'm a knife collector. It is a broad term that includes, for example, tomahawks, machetes, and (eventually) swords. I use most of my knives but I think the term still applies to people who collect knives as "investment art". Whatever we call ourselves, it is a terrific hobby... or is it a way of life :D.
 
Just plain NUTS, ok how about knifenut since we are talking about knifes! :p hehe
 
Accumulator. I think that pretty sums it up for a bunch of us, including me.
