what do ya think?

Great blade shape - lots of fairly complex detail in the handle. Powder coat definitely gives it a nice professional look. Thanks for the pics.

Nice blade and your name suits you to a tee! You indeed have to be aliloff to start making knives, let alone the sheathes and scabbards from a hundred different materials!!!! :p ;) :D

After you ground and finished the blade did you "draw/temper" it back in your oven to a straw color? If you left it full file hard it is brittle and although fine for uses a knife is used for not good for chopping and other rough and heavy duty.:(

I used a torch and tempered from the spine while the edfge was cut into a wet sponge. learned how from the primitive ways website. pretty interesting stuff there.

Good on you!!!! You're not as much off as you might think you be.;) :D
Speaking of Primitive Ways, have you been on Tim Lively's or Tai Goo's Websites? They both make wonderful and imprssive blades!!!!  :D And I know Tim doesn't use any power tools at all and I'm pretty sure that Tai Goo doesn't either but I haven't checked lately.

Sweet! How did you heat treat it?

Looks awesome!

Thanks everbody, the real reason i started was to be able to make something i enjoyed and even though i'm a USMC trained gun guy making a firearm is a bit illegal and very expensive so i turned to my other passion which is edged weapons. now if i can just built a good cheap forge i'll be set to start hammering steel. i've got a hankering to make a knife out of a piece of steel cable.
