What do Y'all Carry/Use as Your Camping Knife? Looking for Suggestions.

When I camp, it tends to be backpacking. I’m not an ultralighter, but I try to go as light as possible due to old age and bad joints.

Last summer I carried a Silky folding saw and a Spyderco Native 5 LW LC200N.
The combo worked great, but there was plenty of deadfall for kindling. I think I also had a small fixed blade (Spyderco Junction) but never had a reason to use it.

My Leatherman Wave in my backpack and my Buck 112 on my belt....and a pistol in my pocket.

I haven't used one but I want to try out a silky nata? Naga? Tool. That should be a wood murdering machine.

I mean honestly for everything else camping I use a Swiss army knife.

Looks like a brute. But as a question: ferro rods don't work on blades with black oxide coating, or ceracoats?

Depends how sharp the spine is.

A Swiss army knife is all I've really needed when going camping. As for fuel for a fire, if I'm going car camping, I bring a bag or two of charcoal. If I'm backpacking, a small gas stove is adequate. I've never had to rely on the wood in the woods for fire while camping.

As for knives, if I'm backpacking, which I haven't done in many years unfortunately, I'll get by with a folding knife and a Leatherman. If I'm car camping, a kitchen knife and chopping board gets thrown in and I'll have a SAK or other folder on me. I have a toolbox in the car if I need pliers and proper screwdrivers.

I know some people like to live off the land while camping, but camping isn't survival for me. It's a "roughing it" vacation.
