that is from a cedar trunk or limb i cut back in early november. that piece is about 8.5" high by about 5.5" wide. solid texas cedar heart wood. it was cut with my electric chainsaw. im holding it incase butcher_block wants it. i have others too. im cutting them into blocks now so that they can dry out faster. if you want a block just email me and ill give you the details. it still needs to be stabalized of course so keep that in mind.

i have way too much cedar that im just giving it away. heres a pic to show you the other logs i have that are about 4 feet long.

I think it's some great looking wook. Not every piece of wood has to look like a swirling vortex of grain. The color of the wood is very nice and should look great once stabilized. Did you ever got a price for the flat rate box of wood? Let me know and I'll get some money on the way to you.

Thanks,

Charles

I like it. I've got a machete and a small utility knife just waiting for some of that :)

Dude! Drying out faster = bigtime checks an splits.

That's some self-splitting wood ya sent me, PimpinSquee. The chunk I have is cracking noticeably just sitting in my living room :D At this rate, in a few weeks I'll have a nice pile of ready made toothpicks:p Sure smells nice though.

Seriously, I'll keep an eye on it. If it doesn't crack too badly I'll stabilize a piece of it. There's some pretty nice grain to it.

im going to let the rest of this dry out in log form for awhile and if anyone else wants a piece by then let me know.
