I would suggest looking for a model that also has a disc sander attached, like the Craftsman 2x42 (which isn't made anymore, but there are plenty like it). The disc sander comes in very handy and doesn't really add significant cost. That said, it looks like this grinder would be more than adequate for a beginner.

Not sure if you already have a bench grinder or not, but if you do you could get a 2x48 Multitool and easily convert it into a 2x72 grinder like I did here for about the same price.
