9- On a user, machine finish is fine. Hand finish just adds cost.

I only use a few of what I buy, but if a knife fits the bill, I don't hesitate.

Depends on my need. I have a Scrapyard knife that was $130, that one of the toughest, biggest that I'll ever need.

Mostly small folders, to tell the truth, for knife packages! I actually use my keychain Spyderco jester far more than any other. Just because it's always with me, on my key chain.

More Vorpals! (Maybe a smaller Vorpal without such a large guard, an ergonomic utility Vorpal, if you will)
Actually, I just noticed, the Brend 4" boot knife would be perfect, if I didn't already have a few similar things.

INFI, barring that I prefer high quality stainless, even AUS8, and 440C are great in my book.

8- Do you prefer kydex or leather for EDC?
Neither, I actually prefer tough non scratching nylon, something I don't have to worry about at all.

9- Do you prefer a hand rubbed satin finish or a machine on your EDC if priced accordingly?
To me, they both look about the same, so it doesn't matter, but I HATE bead blasting.

Micarta, mostly, but to me, ergonomics are FAR more important than actual materials. I hate checkered (or finely ribbed) rubber or kraton, though.
Of course, durability is important to me too.

2- Use.

3- No real limit.

4- Small drop and clip. Neck and or in the waist band. All fixed.

5- not sure

6- blade under 4 to keep me legal.

7- Stainless or at least D2. It's gonna ride close and so I want sweat to be a non-issue.

8- kydex. It's just thinner.

9- Machine.

10- Zero mantenace stuff. G-10, Carbon Fiber, Micarta...Nothing rubbery feeling. I find that those handles are too grabby and they are always pulling on my shirts.

In folders: 3&1/2-4&1/2, Fixed: for 'city carry', 4-5; for 'woods carry', 5-7

Under 6 inch blade: VG10, S30V, 154CM, ATS34, Over 6: Any good carbon steel

8- Do you prefer kydex or leather for EDC?
Kydex

9- Do you prefer a hand rubbed satin finish or a machine on your EDC if priced accordingly?
personally, I like a coated blade, but something smooth (i.e. not 'crinkle' type coating)

10- What handle materials do you prefer for EDC?
Micarta, G10 (I agree with KnifeCollector-some colored handles would be a nice change)

4- What patterns or styles do you use on a daily basis?I prefer framelocks. I am at home in sweats, and am carrying my Matt Cucchiara Mini Scrapper "Gecko" knife.

5- What patterns or styles would you like to see offered by Branton knives, but don't see available on my site? I love drop point & clip point bladed knives. I love titanium handles, as well as G-10 in colors besides black, and CF. I really like a combo of G-10 & Ti. These are things that I would like see.

6- What size blades do you like for EDC? The max blade I carry for EDC is just under 4 inches. I prefer 3 inches. There are times when I HAVE to carry a 2 1/2 inch blade, when I go into Boston. So, I would like to see some small EDC' from you.

7- What steels do you like for EDC? I like S30V, S90V, CPM 154.

8- Do you prefer kydex or leather for EDC? That really depends on the knife, because most of the time I like kydex, but there are knives, that I feel must have leather.

9- Do you prefer a hand rubbed satin finish or a machine on your EDC if priced accordingly? A hand rubbed blade is nice, but not necessary for me. A machine finish is very nice too!!

10- What handle materials do you prefer for EDC? I very much like a combo of titanium & G-10. But, I love titanium by itself. I love a titanium frame, some silver G-10, and a titanium bolster! Oh yeah!!

I averaged all my knives to value and it came to about $583 a knife.

Both collect and use. Some I keep nice, some I can't help but use.

If I'm going to get really dirty or wet I use kydex. If I have the choice of comfort (like for most of the time) I go with leather. Kydex pocket sheaths are good for small fixed blades though.

It depends on how good the machine finish is and what I'm going to use the knife for. If it's a beater than I'd go with machine. If it's a lighter use EDC I'd go with the hand rubbed.

Micarta, Wood, sometimes stag or mammoth ivory.

2- Use it! Beat it hard! There are no queens in my safe.

4- Usually use a 3.5"-4" blade (EDC) folder, looking for a good small fixed blade now, though.

5- More EDC fixed blades. The market is saturated with folders, but there aren't all that many good fixed knives that come with comfortable, practical sheaths for every day carry.

7- 154CM, S30V, ATS-34, D2, VG-10

8- Either kydex or leather works for me. I'm currently in a leather phase, though.

9- Finish doesn't matter much to me, as long as there aren't harsh grind marks. Coatings suck.
