What do you call those?

Naaaah, I like the hollow ones. I'm not the type of goof to go tying my knife to a stick, but hollow pins at least give you options for attachment!

I think it would be nice to see Busse switch to a solid pin, attached the same way as the tube fasteners.
It's probably a tall order, maybe not even possible, but after reading about the occasional handle developing some wiggle after batoning. I have to wonder if solid pins wouldn't take impacts a little better.
And yes, these would me the most overbuilt handle fasteners I've ever seen.

I'm not sure I'm following you here - the tube fasteners are attached by flaring them in a die. How are you going to flare a solid pin? Am I missing something obvious?
 
I was told by Garth in Easton, where the smooth bolts were reintroduced, that the Easton bolts were hand peened nickel pins.
 
Funny thing: around these parts 1 is called a 'bus', 2 or more 'bussen'; English translation: busses!!
