Even if it is just a Skull fob with the foot (or nose) of Rudolph in it's teeth.     :)
Could be a Para2 with the perfect red scales they came up with several months ago . . . what was that called? Danged nice that one.

What knife do you invariably reach for when this time of the great feasting and celebrating arrives ? Doesn't have to be just for Christmas of course; just for this time of year.

I don't really have one yet that's why I am posting this. I'm looking for a Christmas knife. In the past I just rotate out what ever and or use my latest Christmas present knife such as my 710 (blue w/M390) which makes an admirable goodie slicer but lacks that touch of red or green or other Christmas like decoration.

Maybe if I got my wish it would be a Spyderco Pattada with red scales. Probably the N690 so it wouldn't tarnish cutting all the Christmas goodies. Bright and shiny goes with Christmas (tarnished old M4 for the rest of the year though). Bit of festive etching on the blade. ;)

My current rough list :
  • Case Trapper with just red jigged scales.
  • Case Trapper with just smooth red jigged scales.
  • Case Trapper with red jigged scales but with blade decoration (? is that painted on / comes off the first season of use ?.
(yeah . . . I'm not very creative and have an obsession with full size Trappers)

  • Case Canoe in just the Christmas green or the Christmas red, white and green.
  • Get a Brad Zinker Urban Trapper and add thick scales like my Grail. Christmas scales; probably red. I'm just not feeling it though. I would prefer something off the shelf and probably polished bone.
Of course fixed blades are welcome here. I probably won't be going there for my Christmas knife but who knows. My last knife purchase w a a s s s a Buck 102

I never really color coordinated for the season, but the reds are kinda festive looking:

I mean the lettering and all on the bolster does it.

Oh you're right. What was I thinking ! ?
Next thing you know I will be calling what I'm wearing an "Outfit".
I think you got to me just in time.
(inside joke / Jason Isbel song).

I’ve been carrying these guys for the last couple months (usually one or the other). And I’ll be carrying one (or both) of them through the holidays or until I decide on which knife (or knives) I’ll be buying myself for Xmas.

I carry my normal carry.

These days, usually a Buck 110 Aluminum Frame (Copper and Clad - dear heavens this is an easy knife to live with) and Leatherman Micra.

The Micra will handle 99% of gift wrapping and opening. Also bottle opening. That's super important too.

Usually EDC a Code 4 in Aus 8 ( doesn't hold an edge very good , but I got it so I use it)
I also carry a Leatherman sidekick a lot. Very handy when you have to open packages and put batteries into devices and stuff.

This gal has yet to leave my pocket and since she’s sporting some red micarta, I think she’ll be my holiday companion.

I knew I’d like this knife when I first saw it, now I know it’s damn near perfect for me.

*Latest picture so please excuse the thumb slip.

Irish whiskey & weed

Cannabis is lawful in this state. Currently on "Cheap weed Wednesday" an ounce of prime bud (not shake) runs $35 plus tax -- which we don't pay because we have an Oregon Medical Marijuana Card.

I've never thought of knives as a "seasonal item."

Vic Small Tinker.. Red Cellidor handles.. This should count!!!!:D
