What do you carry?

I am still not a Balisong owner, so I wanted to ask you guys that are. What is your normal edc: a bali or regular tactical. Is the bali just a toy or do you find it to be to sheeple unfriendly to carry in public.

Well, as far as EDC goes, I alternate between a bali and a BM folder. The bali is very practical, and you can find descriptions of what people use them for in previous posts, ranging from knife, to wire stripper, to roach clip (!?!). Most people here have stories about how they had to take out their bali in the most unthreatening manner possible and still got sh*t for it, but I've never had any real problems. Most people just ask me how to use it and think that all the manipulations are pretty cool. In all honesty, I carry a bali as an EDC because I like to flip it when I have the chance, I like to have it with me, and its just plain fun. As far as cutting tasks, I can usually accomplish anything I need to with a folder, and although bali lockup is much stronger than any other lock method, I've never had a lock bust on me.

Wow what a trip, we must be on the same thought pattern, I was posting basically the same thread you were at the same time.

As mentioned before. I wish I can carry a bali openly, but I just can't. So in terms of daily carry, it's always a mid-sized folder. It does all the out-in-the-open cutting work. 90% of the time, my bali is always with me as by primary defensive weapon.

My home-made latchless 42s...............:D

My EDC is an MT LCC D/A. Depending on what i'm wearing i sometimes take a 3" BM along with me, but most of the places i find myself are not conducive to bali use/display. What i would really like to do is put a clip on my BM 35. What would be the best way to drill a couple holes in the handel? Finding a place in my pocket for a bali is one of the main things that keeps me from carrying one, but i would really like to. Sheathed on a belt is rarely an option for me.

I alternate between my Microtech LCC and my BM Mini-AFCK. Balisongs are illegal for me to carry here in Georgia (I think, the laws are pretty vague).

I like my modified 42!:) Of course this is mostly because I broke my 239 and that was my only other bali!:( Now I have to save up and buy a whole crapload of bali's so I have a better selection:D

When I'm not toting my 42 around I am using my Spyderco Endura or my CQC7.

But I also frequently carry my mini sword (I made it when I was in highscool) It is only 2.5" in length (including handle) and is styled after the Ninja-To with a traditionally wrapped handle. I've always loved my little sword as it slips into any hem or seam in my clothing.:D

I carry a MT LCC D/A (3rd Gen), Spyderco Lum Tanto Ti, a BM 942 First Production 0012/1000, and a broken PC 10. I alternate the Spdyerco and the MT on my right, the 942 is for my left side. :D

My 42 is my EDC. It's legal in Oregon, though, so it's not like I'm taking a big risk legality-wise. I have seen some people give me strange looks from time to time when I use it in public, but what can you do? If you're making everyone happy all of the time you must be doing something wrong.;)

Hey ChungSan I just got a BM47A too, it's nice.:D
usualy carry my new BM42S. The metal on the BM42's or the design just seems to make it swing better and the swing always beats the look. I have not had any problems recently. Not many people seem to notice it.

Dawkind's latchless is prettier than mine :p
oh well- MAN does it ever flip well!

anyway, usually I carry:
-BM43
-BM47BLK
-this shotgun shell thing with a 1.5" blade inside
-kubotan with small blade inside
-2" bali
-this little lighter/knife thingee

Depending on where I'm going, I'll lighten my load and exchange me 43 and 47 for my 42LL, which I wear on my right.

My EDC changes more often than my underware. Depends on where I am going, what I am doing, and who I will be around. However, some of my current favorites are, BM 43, UT 6, UDT, Brend Mini Socom, Hubertus pen blade release w/bottle cap opener, Random Task, and I never leave home without my Chive, which is on my key chain, clipped to my pocket. Current Sunday carry is the TiNives Gold Damascus. Next month, some others will come out of the display case and be my favorites. Hopefully, one will be the Tachyon.
