Since I'll soon be wearing my 5 all day every day, I am currently taking it with me everywhere and using it for pretty much everything. Kindling for the fire? Check. Cut up our chicken? Check. Slice paper at work for fun before putting a fresh edge on it? Check. Paired with my fork at the dinner table? Check.
My wife was laughing at me the other night when she saw me cutting limes to make us some Caipirihna's. Yes, I use this knife to help me prepare alcoholic beverages.

You mind if I ask what your line of work is? People tend to get freaked out by a knife that size...
Surviormind, you will enjoy using the 5 for what you are doing. The spine being crowned as it is serves two purposes. One to reduce drag while slicing but the other main function is was intended for was to break small bones that you did not want to chop with your edge, such as rabbitt, squirrels, I even broke a deer leg bone with it just to check it out, and you sure do not want to hit a deer leg bone with the primary edge. Once the bone is broken I used the primary edge to slice through the meat portion. In a make do situation your knife needs that secondary crown or clip to serve a function. Least wise that is one of the things I do with my 5, your mileage may vary.
Whoa.....best put your listeners on, you got The Man himself, layin' out some info.
Hey Mr. Fisk, how you been?

Hey Mooze, looking forward to try to get with you guys at the gathering this spring. Let me know the dates as soon as possible. We got a lot of juggling to do with spring this year.
