What do you do with your knives?

I own 7 but I only use 2 and soon to be 3 when the tank buster comes out. One big dog NMFBM for chopping and camping and the BATAC for everything else. I bought the TB to use as well (serrated and all), but my FFBM, DOG Father, HOGFSH, and Chopweiller are to be frozen in time and never used. IMO, why beat up all the blades when you dont need to.

Not too much I am afraid.. I occasionally use my SAR4 and NMSFNO, but even the SAR4 is too bulky for me to have it with me regularly - I am using Fällkniven F1 as my 'EDC' instead. However, I did some chopping in my garden lately and as the FBM and NMSFNO were quite impressive in bringing down (and reducing) a Willow. Besides that, I felt that using a Busse is twice as much fun as using an axe!:D

I edc a Snakeskin Culti at home and at work and it gets used alot!
I have a GWLE that I carry if I'm going within the big city limits (insane knife law within) that are nearbye.
I carry a SJLE when I'm dayhiking.
CG CBT FBM when dayhiking or camping.

My Busse uses are along the lines of everyone else posting in this thread. I jump at the chance to use my Busses every chance I get. My Game Warden has seen alot of carry time. I most recently used it to gut and butcher a deer. My ASH1 is a great camping knife and goes on every camping trip and most of my trips to the shooting range. The FBM gets to come camping too but it mostly stays in camp because its so damn big and heavy. I have to be careful with that one because I like to drink beer while camping and the inertia it carries seems to increase in direct proportion to the number of beers I drink. (Don't ask me how I know this). :o

Knives I haven't used yet are my Scrapyard Yardkeeper (I think that's which one it is), Swamp Warden, and Sar4.

My ASH1 had kitchen duty for a month while I was waiting for my household goods to make the voyage from Idaho to Alaska. It did pretty well, excelling at some of the chopping and dicing. Kicked a$$ chopping garlic. Not so good at slicing softer cheese though.

I really use my Busse knives alot more than I talk about or post pictures. I find it a little too time consuming and inconvenient to stop what I am doing to take pictures. My friends and family already think my knife hobby is a little strange; I don't want to ask them to take pictures of me using them.

I resemble this remark.;)

Most of the time I love them. Sometimes I only like them.

Doesn't "USE" constitute "Abuse" and therefore void the Busse Warranty??? :p

I do however take a SHSH when I go camping and usually have a SHBA near me at all times. :D

I agree with you completely although I still take the pics. Everytime we are camping and I pull the camera out my family/friends look at me like I am really odd so I usually break away from camp for some quiet time with my knives and camera...... :D

Im with both of you guys. All my friends and family think Im nuts because I own more than 1 knife. And then the Killa Z showed up and my fiance looked at me very odd like I was gonna use it for a devious purpose. If we were coin collecting no one would care, but since they are knives, we are looked upon as murders and psychos!!!

Oh well:D SUCK IT!!

...since I've never seen an EDC sized Busse that doesn't waste massive amounts of usable blade on goofy choils, oversized handles, and space-consuming talon holes, the Vex is the only small Busse blade that makes it into my EDC rotation.

Thoughts on the Skelly key?

Anyway, a Game Warden or Mean Street gets the nod for general camp use when I carry a belt knife. All the usual stuff - food prep, wood work, cuttin' stuff.

Bigger Busses see kitchen duty. Some are still pristine - mostly because I have plenty of chopping blades, and not much stuff to chop. And some of them need proper sheaths. Looking to fix that oversight soon...

IMHO, the choil on the skelly is too small to be useful, but too large for a sharpening choil. A sharpening choil need not be more than about a eighth of an inch in width to do its job, and with that gradual ramp up to the talon hole, there's again a bunch of wasted blade space. Give me the exact same blade but with a handle that actually comes up next to the blade and I'd love it.

I will EDC Game Wardens, Active Duties, and my sole Miliganza Mean Street. Carry law for Iowa is <5" so I have to reserve my SAR5, Hell Razor, SJTac, ASH1s, NMSFNO, Steel Hearts, and Battle Mistresses for camping or utilitarian use for the yard.

Occasionally something that is not carry-legal may be toted around in a backpack...strictly for showing off to friends...and then I "accidentally" forget it is there for weeks at a time...

I can relate to this a little too well:D

When I read this I almost felt that I had written it:D:D

The fam also thinks I am nuts. I have however made my wife take photo's and video of me using my Infi, including throwing the FBMLE. She thinks I am nuts......but hey, I was throwing my axes and hawks, and knives before I ever got any INFI, so INFI can't be to blame!

I had my FBMLE in the back yard at my dads chopping just to chop on some wood. My dad said "you are going to dull your knife all up, and scratch it" And I told him that is why I know how to sharpen.

My dad has guns and knives. But he is not really a knife guy. He though my Cold Steel knives were expensive, he thinks my Busse are off the deep end.
