Be it steel, G10, micarta or any other consumable, eventually you find yourself with scraps.

So... What do you do with them?

I've been making little key chain "worry stones" out of scrap micarta.

I'm going to try some micarta beads next. :)

Good going I say ! I have made a cuzillion medallions from pearl, mammoth ivory, and abalone. Frank

I had to wikipedia that. Do they work?

It depends. Some child therapists use worry stones when working with kids that have anxiety. They reinforce positive thinking while the child rubs their stone. Then, when the child is in a situation that triggers their anxiety they can resort to the stone.

I imagine that one could say that it's a crutch, or a problem all its own, but if you've experienced major (abnormal) anxiety, and even used pharmaceuticals to quell the problem, a stone doesn't seem so bad. :)

In terms what I've made, they are nice (for me) because the micarta has a pleasant texture, and is "warm", it's also durable. Basically the same reasons why people like the material for scales.

Some guys make ferro rod handles.

That's exactly what I was going to do with the nice wood that I cut into scales last. Problem was, I didn't end up with enough. A friend recommended glueing the pieces together and turning it. May try that yet.

Btw, thank you Stacy for that other thread. :)
