Man, the glass is quite important when drinking any drink that is of a decent quality.
If its Scotch then I drink from a Glencairn, my girlfriend just accidentally broke mine (which is only fair because the day before I broke her wine glass) and I can't afford a new one - fingers crossed for Christmas! (Hoping for a nice Glenmorangie, also. Hoping to try the LaSanta)
If its on the go I have a stainless hip flask - it has a skull and cross bones on it
If it's a pilsner (I rarely drink pilsner) I have a pilsner glass
If it's a brown ale or stout I use a tulip/straight beer glass
If it's a Belgium then I'll have it in a glass shaped similar to a wine glass (a small one, holds about 6 ounces) but with a flared top, or a large glass goblet.
Sometimes the heavy Russian Imperial Stouts are nice in the wine glass w/flared top also. It's really good for tasting any beer, actually.
I also used to have a thistle style glass for my favorite style of beer scotch ale. I found it in a thrift store after looking for months for one, but it broke and I haven't been able to find another one since. It's not really a shape for taste, more for fun.
If it's black velvet then it's out of the bottle
