What do you expect from GEC? (Northfield and Tidioute)

My 2011 Forum knife is easily the best built, feeling, looking factory knife I have ever had the pleasure of owning.

And your picture of it (now your avatar) is one of the best knife photos I have ever seen!

I bought a Tidioute 73 several years ago, online. When it came, the pull was horrible, and it sat in the tube. I traded that one, but I have bought older models over the years that smoothed out to a comfortable pull, for me anyway. I've gotten some patterns that I wanted to try out over the past couple years. Mostly, I've stuck with jacks and trappers from GEC, . They seem to do a great job with those. I was not happy with the stockman/cattle baron pattern I got from them. The pull was too much on a 5 bladed knife!

As of late, most of the patterns I've gotten have had a good comfortable pull, again at least for me. The newer models don't all appear to be on steroids. They have overcome their aversion to elegance that I saw for a while, or maybe that may just be my imagination.

I have come to appreciate and prefer a patina on my knives, and a lot of my working knives are either tool or carbon steel blades. I would like to see more models offered in 440C, and maybe D2 or another super steel. I have a love hate relationship with D2, but would like to see it offered on GEC models. I realize that prices would go up.
