What do you get!

I just spoke with Jeff concerning this matter and he ask me to post this. This IS NOT the way we package the knife here at the factory. It should NOT have been sent to you like this, and YES the knife should have came with a boot clip. Please email Jeff ASAP with the dealer name as well as your address so we can get a boot clip sent off to you as well as remedy this situation with the dealer. We cannot control what a dealer does with the product after they receive it but rest assured we want to make absolutely sure you are taken care of.

Yet another reason why RAT is one of the best out there! :D

I highly doubt you'd get this level of customer service with other brands (I know I never had).

Everytime I see the subject line on this thread i think...

"What do you get when you guzzle down sweets?

eating as much as an elephant eats...

What are you at getting terribly fat?

What do you think will come... of... that?

eating like a cow does...

Oompa loompa doopidy dah..."

LOL

Missing boot clip and cleaning cloth is not standard ,kinda odd....the box is it print with anything or it maybe just a generic shipping box /repackage job like stated before...
But Jeff/Mike/Shon, will take care of you on the boot clip.. was the item purchased second hand?

Judging by the shape the sheath instructions are in, I'd say that it's definitely second hand.

The knife is new and everything that came with it is new. It was not purchased as a second hand knife. I am not going to say the name of the company the knife came from because they could be a favoritte to some on the forum. There is no need to stir the pot over something that was probably a simple mistake and minor in my opinion. Honestly until I looked at other pics here on the forum I did not think anything was missing. I did find the box it was shipped in to be a little wacky.

As for the customer service of Rat, what else can you say but awesome. I certainly was not expecting any kind of response. I was planning to take it up with the company the knife was ordered from. My only hope is that they will start making some folders so I will not have to order any other kind of knives from anyone else. Thanks again to everyone for their replies.

RAT's reputation certain isn't in question, but if I were a manufacturer I would want to make sure that my product was being sold in a manner that insured customer satisfaction and proper representation. If I had found out that what you received was the way RAT ships their products to dealers, I would have had a very different opinion of the company. The fact is, you did not receive a factory-fresh knife and you did not receive everything that's supposed to come with that knife. You also received things that don't normally come with the knife.

If I made a product marked "Made in the U.S.A." and it was shipped by a dealer in a box that said "Made in China" I would be furious.

Definitely a Shady company. I doubt it is one of the ones listed on the RAT website. I have ordered Rat products from 3 different online retailers and have experienced nothing but the best customer service and professionalism from each one. The way your knife was packaged (type of box used and lack of ziplock bag that it is in when it comes from Rowen Mfg.) and the fact that it was missing such an essential piece is unacceptable. Totally unprofessional. That said, enjoy the knife! The entire RAT line is awesome, and so are your parents' for getting you such a great Christmas gift. Use it in good health.

I'd like to know who the dealer is. They sold it that way into the public marketplace so there is nothing that should be kept quiet.

And thumbs up to RAT for taking care of him! I hope they charge back the dealer for the cost of the missing parts.

Well atleast Tell Jeff who the dealer is so they can have a talk with them because what the dealer is doing is not right,I would be pissed & I would name the dealer but that is just me...:D

I dunno if I would be too quick to hang the dealer in public until they have a chance to respond in the back channel. It's possible that they have a logical explanation for the snafu (holidays stretched their resources, new help screwed up, etc.). Anyone here who is perfect can now step to the front of the line so I can smack you for lying. ;)

I would give the dealer an opportunity to respond. Could be a simple mistake.

at least you got a knife! I get emails from people every week telling me horror stories of buying from non-stocking dealers who take their money and never send them a knife and never respond to email or phone calls.

RC is top shelf. If you go from their website, you'll get a good dealer. I know Jeff is very active in this area and a substandard dealer wouldn't have a link off their site for long! :)

Yeah, my Izula Derrick sent got lost in transit somewhere, and he has been very helpfull, and communicated with me every step of the way. There is alt of dealers who wouldnt do half that. Thats why I order from KSF first if they have it.

BTW Derrick, I ordered some orange paracord recently, and it arrived yesterday. I thought it was my Izula when I saw it on the table. I was giddy, then I saw it was the paracord. Still happy, but talk about gettin your hopes up!! If it was the Izula, It would have had to have taken the most scenic route in the world!! LOL...... Anyway, thanks for the paracord, and being a standup guy with my order problems.....
