I've found a shop that sells Ka-bar USMC patterned knife at higher prices than Camillus' USMC patterned knife... so I think you could find the Camillus version at slightly less than the Ka-bar version.
Camillus' version is the mil-spec that the good old days required them to do, while the Ka-bar went a step further. That doesn't necessarily mean that the heat treat is any better. Camillus have been known to make great knives out of the steel that they got, because of the good heat treat.
If this is a user, I'd say go Camillus, but if you keep it just because you want a representative of history, it's pretty much your call on which one you like the most.
