I have a spyderco Paramilitary and I love it, I saw a few reviews on the Tenacious, but I'd like to know the standpoint from someone who's carried it for a few days. :)

I like it. I picked one up last week. Seems well made(like any other Spyderco) and solid. I like it better then some of the Byrd knives I have handled(only a few). I think it wil make another excellent addition to the Spyderco line. Just my opinion.
I haven't done any cutting with it, but if the steel is any better or the same as my old
G2 Endura, then it will work just fine for me.

I have every version of the Tenacious, and I love them. Four-way clip, good steel, open back, linerlock, Spyderhole, great price tag. What's not to like?

Every time I order a new Spyderco, I add a Tenacious to the order as well ;)
Great knife!

Solid little knife. I only have the SE version, wish it was PE. It has a great blade for slicing. The lock is solid. The edge seems to hole up well enough, haven't done much other than touch it up yet.

Ive had it since the beginning of the summer, its an amazing edc knife, great grip, pillar constructions, decent steel, great grind. Last week I gave to my younger brother as a way to hook him onto spyderco.

let me help you sir.

I have carried one of the plain edge models for about 4 months now and have been very pleased with its performance as a cutting tool. I have cut many things to include Seat Belts in overturned car, sealed bandages, ammo boxes, Wet Boat rope, hard wood (cured cedar), green twigs, steaks, chicken. letters and boxes, etc.

I have found this knife to be well suited to just about any task i have put it to. The ergonomics of the handle make for a very palm filling and for me, hot spot free under hard use. Dare i say it has the feel of a Mini Mannix and a Caly III for me. The edge grind in uniform and holds its cutting edge very well. The 8cr1mov steel Leaf Style blade being used is done very well with no blemishes and heat treat is good. The four way clip makes for a versatile package for carry for me as i can tailor it to any task or gear i may be wearing.

The steel liners make the knife very sturdy and they do add weight, but I can look past the weight issue as i like to carry a heavier knife anyway.

I will honestly say that this knife is one I will continue to carry confidently and proudly knowing that all the care and concern used by Spyderco in the making of its Us and Japanese knives is continued to its Chinese models.

Thanks Spydergang for offering an excellent product that allows for a budget minded individual to own a truly well built knife.

(disclaimer.....I own 52 spyderco knives, and carry 3 or so a day...so this is a true test against some real heavyweights...)

I recently got a Tenacious to present to our scout troop as a possible standard knife, and so far I love it. It's got a great edge on it, the jimping is nice, and the G-10 is something I absolutely love.

IMHO, the only thing the Tenacious REALLY has over the Paramilitary is the ability to be carried tip-up. I own both because I got the Tenny for a song here on bladeforums. It never really sees any pocket time, because I really prefer everything else about the Paramillie.

I think the paramilitary is an awesome knife but it still costs 4 times as much as a Tenacious.
I love VG10 (I have both an Endura and a delica) but at that price the 8cr13mov is good enough.
People compare 8cr13mov to Aus8 but I think Aus 8 is better at wear and stain resistance, also 8cr13mov seems to be more prone to the edge rolling maybe it's softer or more malleable. This is my experience with my Tenacious and Crossbill anyway.

I like that the Tenacious can be carried tip up from factory unlike the Para, but everything else about the Para is better IMO. The only time I carry the Tenacious over it is for beater type jobs.
