Just wondering if you guys have seen this before, and what do you think it does for the knife's aesthetics?

Yeah. The lack of a pattern in the dremeled-spots kinda ruins the aesthetics.

I'm feeling the same way.. wasn't sure at first but I think you're right on w/ the lack of pattern damaging instead of enhancing the knife's look. Saw it on ebay for $40, thought about it but think I'm going to pass.

Honestly, it kind of looks unfinished. With the gnarled pattern near and in the spydiehole, I would put an acid washed finish on it. As it is it kind of doesn't really match. You have a somewhat clean high polished blade with a random industrial type jimping. I think I would run with the rugged jimping and go with a nuclear blast type acid washing (IMO). :o

Interesting... visualizing it with a good acid wash treatment I'm getting a different idea of this blade having an aggressive gnarly look

It appears to have serrated the interior of the Spyderhole....the part your finger slides across when opening the knife. I'm sure one care argue the aesthetics (de gustibus), but it seems kinda unarguable that the functionality for a righty user has been compromised.

"Mod" and "pimped" are getting way too much use. Now ruining a knife (like some I've seen) is now called "pimping". Sure there is TASTEFUL pimping, but somebody's "experiment" that ruined a knife's look or use should not be referred to as "pimping" or a "mod"...

Yep that crossed my mind looking at it.., I experienced something similar using the zip-tie wave mod on my PM2 when I inadvertently tried to flick it open forcefully with my thumb and the top of my nail got kind of nicked in the process.

This is a good point that is being brought up by several forum members. Thought it called for a minor edit in the title of the thread (changed mod to "mod" :friendly_wink:)

I can imagine it will end up not feeling at all friendly when you use your fingers to open this knife, with all those notches at random places. It looks like some kind of creature using it's teeth to open the knife instead of fingers.

The hole is compromised for a right hand user. For a lefty it's merely ugly. A mod with no benefits.
