What do you guys think about this Spyderco "mod"?

And that edge (in the second picture, looking back toward the ricasso/choil area) looks like it was sharpened on a flat rock...

I don't really care for it and don't see the use in it, but it's your knife to do with as you please.

Just wondering if you guys have seen this before, and what do you think it does for the knife's aesthetics?

Bottom line do you like it?, I've done file work on some knives and I've found that symmetry and patterns always look best, I used a cut off wheel to put jimping on the thumb ramp, I liked it.

I think that you have taken what is arguably the weakest point on the blade and made it weaker, imo.

Hate to say it, but that's not too appealing. Maybe if the rest of the knife was modified it might look better. As it stands, it looks to me like it got semi-mulched by a wood chipper.

Nutnfancy would love it--all that jimping! But it needs more. :D

Reminds me of the teaspoon I accidentally dropped in our garbage disposal.
That cracked me up.
For real, if it works for you thats great.
I could see a little more even and subtle around the hole on a Salt for when your hands are wet and slippery.

Ouch...just my opinion.

On the other hand if you're too lazy to open the knife, you can use the "jimping" on the top of the thumb hole to just tear into a tape line on a box, similar to using a key. Or if you are attacked you can scratch up the assailants face to make it easier for the police to identify the person. "I'm not sure what he looks like but I put some gnarly scratches in his face with my modded out Spyderco."
