What do you guys think of Cold Steel "More Proof" DVD?

Just wait when they start sending you the catalog they wont stop and it is endless.

I got the DVD with the catalog last time and trashed it. Once you have seen it it isnt like a favorite movie you can watch over and over.
They do some extreme things to there knives and other weapons and it is interesting the first time but that is it. I have a vhs tape somewhere and it repetes it's self over and over so you could use it in a display I would guess. It is worth watching once but nothing to get excited over..

I got the Cold Steel More Proof DVD at their booth at the Blade show. I didn't realise they were so hard to get or I would have picked up a bunch. They had stacks of them at the booth. As far as the content goes I watched both DVDs and basically enjoyed the presentation. I thought it was well made. The knife demos on the first DVD were interesting but got a bit repetitive. I really enjoyed the spears, axes, and swords on the 2nd DVD. I didn't know Cold Steel had such an extensive line of spears and other throwing implements. Unfortunately knowing some of the nasty business between Cold Steel and ATC over the naming of tomahawks took away from that segment. The video starts with a disclaimer that some of the demonstrations constitute "abuse". Fair enough but I would really appreciate it if they labeled the "abuse" demonstrations as such.

I'll make this offer to Canadian residents: I will send the More Proof DVD to the first member who asks and agrees to pass it along to someone else when they are done. (Please use a subject line of "DVD" in your email).

I got the DVD when I ordered the Special Projects catalog. I watched it and what I found extremely intersting was the meat cutting demonstations. I was wondering if live flesh would react the same as the hanging meat. What I mean by that is, would live tissue covered by skin cut to the same depth and as severely as the roasts that Lynn was using.

It also seemed that some of the larger folders with their thin ground edges cut more deeply than did the large bowie blades. I also liked the slashing cut he made with the little push dagger that has about a one inch blade.

I wouldn't purchase most of Cold Steel's products although I have a few of their fixed blade knives and one hawk. Those were purchased years ago but Lynn's choice of cheap steel for his folders just doesn't interest me.

I would love to see some of the larger Spyderco, Benchmade, Emerson, etc. knives used in meat cutting tests. Then we could have one hell of a barbecue.

Forgot one thing, the demonstration where he cut a glove filled with pork ribs for fingers made my blood run cold. That would be one nasty injury.

5. What do you guys think of the DVD? What do you think of Cold Steel in general?

I'm not going to take them serious, until their warranty covers their demonstrations.
