What do you guys think of this idea?

I was doing some knife research today and I came up with an idea. Do you guys think it would be a good idea if ESEE made a neck knife that is even smaller than the Izula but larger than most other neck knives. I think it would be good with a 2 inch blade and a 3 inch non-skeletonized handle. Also, if they used a really nice steel, gave it a black powder coat, and some dark neon blue G10 handle scales, I would buy one in a heartbeat. Now, I just need to come up with a name for it. What do you guys think of my idea. What would you guys change?

P.S. - ESEE employees, I would really like to see this sometime in the future. I'll keep my fingers crossed. If anyone at ESEE reads this, tell me what you think. Would something like this be a possibility?

ETA: I decided that I don't like the idea of a glass breaker pommel on this knife. So, I have removed it from my description.

While I think ESEE would make a killer neck knife. I'll be honest I have never been a fan of neck knifes. Sorry I'm probably not the guy to ask. However the one thing I would change is leave off the scales. IMO if I am going to wear a knife around my neck & under my shirt I want it as thin as possible while still functional.

I think the Izula is the perfect neck knife. I'll admit, it is not the best cutter of my neck knives, but it is still my favorite. It can take some serious punishment though, which is the trade off for having a thick spine in a small, coated blade.

blue G10 handle scales

why blue?

at any rate... i think you might want to look for one of the custom makers to produce this for you.

for a neck knife, i really like the Drone, by Mitchell Knives.

ATS-34, very minimalist and looks cool. i just don't have the budget for one at the moment, so i can't say how it actually performs. he also makes some other stuff that can be carried as a necker.

the Spyderco Swick also looks interesting.

or a CRKT Foit Minimalist. this seems to meet your criteria except for the black coating and blue scales. plus it's CHEAP! it's also very lightweight.

I think the Izula is as small as they should go. It is a great neck knife as is, and I don't think I'd want anything much smaller.

I second xDogsoldierx's statement, though I do believe we may be waiting quite a bit, while they work out the defying physics part of the design...:D

I don't have an Izula, don't like the pinky hole, but I do have several Swamp Wardens. I can't see going any smaller until I make the jump down to a HAK. The Izuala and SW are about as small as I can comfortably go in a utility blade. Any smaller and there isn't enough edge for chores, just last ditch defense against soft targets.

i could be wrong but i think the izula is esee's version of the neck knife
but who knows they might just come up with one down the line !

I would buy a smaller knife then the Izula for sure and even though most people haven't been too fond of the idea I bet they would too ;)

I could see them doing something like that in the future with their 1095 but your dark neon g10 handles will probably be a custom deal.

Along with orange, neon blue is one of the most visible colors especially in the woods.

i think "dark neon" is a contradiction in terms. i've never considered baby blue to be that vibrant a color... and especially not if someone is wearing "blue blocker" sunglasses.

my motorcycle helmet is lime green than that sucker pops out, and the lime or chartreuse green is supposed to ne more visible to senior citizens who have a harder time seeing orange.

i've seen some screaming yellow G10 scales. but uellow and or orange might not be a good choice if you have "fall colors" on the trees in your area. if that's what you have, then some bright blue might hive good contrast with the yellow and orange.

i've seen LEOs get knives with blue liners under the scales... for that "thin blue line" thing. so i was expecting you were headed in that direction.

The izula blade size is perfect as it is as a necker.. any smaller, it would not be useful for alot of the task I put through the izula. I would just use my SAK instead.

I also do not see the need for a glass breaker on a small blade.. you need quite a bit of length to deliver enough pressure on the point to shatter any tempered glass and the Hest is perfect for the task, and I'm sure Esee knows it which is why it's izula and hest is built the way they are.

Not everyone is a fan of neon blue either, and I do not understand how dark and neon can be in the same sentence? In terms of visibilty, I've always prefer to use lanyards reflective tracer cords for these.
