I keep mine in a seven-drawer Kennedy machinist's chest.

I don't want my children fed or clothed by the state, but I would prefer THAT to their being educated by the state.

Gun safe (already had it for the guns). I do like the tool chest idea, I'll have to keep an eye out for one with lots of shallow drawers.

Might as well get this over with...my pockets.

I keep the rest in a glass fronted book case on the shelves in front of the books.

This is an interesting post as I just was talking to Bob, (aka, the "Bald1"), a couple of weeks ago about this. I came across an old EMT case, (one that an ambulance or emergency hospital worker uses), and I swear these things were made for knife collectors/lovers. They're made like a large tackle box. The top folds out on both sides exposing many compartments and the bottom is a cavernous portion for many more knives that can even include the knives boxes. They are built like luggage, (the top latches lock), but not to the point where they should be too expensive. This thing swallowed up about 75% of my collection, takes up little room, and is just one of those things that you couldn't imagine being this handy.

I don't keep my knives IN anything. I keep them ON my desk, on my scanner, on the floor next to my desk, on the shelf by my desk........

A locked 5 drawer craftman tool chest that is now full. I'm either going to stop buying knifes or get another tool chest.Hmmmm.
You guys have a good one.

I keep my knives in a suite case in the dresser draw,in a sterro cabinet that the sterreo died now full of knives,I have the pocket knives in a case made for such and my tat folders are in a seperate draw. I have the bayonets in the closet. Then of course I carry at least four on my person.

Well, I'm not too fancy, but it sure works. A large toolbox with a drypack in it. Then, each individual knife is in a SackUp, those great sock-like things that act like a moisture wick.

Mostly in oak tool boxes from Sportsman's Guide. They have several sizes. Also, Glass topped table, and have neck knives hanging from brads in bookcase. The others are just lying around in strategic places (don't have children at home. When they visit, everything goes underground!). At any given time, a few are in my pockets, if I have my pants on!

Large red Craftsman tool chests. The base units on wheels are great if you have large fixed blades still in the box.

I use the 12"x18" oak and glass display cases, some from customdisplays.com and some from a local gun show vendor. The cases are hanging from the walls. We put them in the gun safe whenever we leave the house for more than a few hours.

It sure is tough to strike a good balance between security, accessibility, and the ability to see (admire) them. I've been toying with the idea of buying one of the Homak gun security cabinets, cutting out the door, and installing 1/2" thick Lexan. It would take a fair amount of work to break through the Lexan.

Does anyone have any other ideas???
