What do you prefer bow or firearm for hunting

I do both, but must admit I prefer to use the shotgun. I can get a further shot, and have a better chance at putting meat in the freezer.

I hunt with a crossbow during archery season due to a shoulder injury. This year I killed my first archery gobbler turkey (19 pounds, w/ 11 in. beard) something I've been trying to do for a long time. I've hunted most of my life, over 35 years, and I still get very excited when I see a big buck deer. Archery is my favorite followed by muzzleloader and then modern gun.

Bow!

successful hunting with a bow takes considerably more skill than simply being able to blast something 500 yards away.

i also prefer a bow because in a SHTF situation i'd rather save ammunition to be used for defence or currency.

I hunt on the ground, wearing a home made ghillie cape and head piece. I use a recurve bow.

Bow season is more fun because animals are more relaxed and you see more deer. I do prefe my rifle for gun season because deer start getting nervous with all the shooting and I want every advantage. It's tough either way.

bow, cuz in my area, there are a lot of animals, and with a bow being much more quiet, i can take more out quickly without them running away.

I have done both but for large game(deer) I like the compound bow & for small game like tree rats I prefer a good .22LR  Archery takes alot more skill & you gotta put alot more time in the woods & on the archery range, I love to shoot my Bow (2010 PSE Vendetta XL)

I used to hunt shotgun season with my dad when I was a kid but If I ever got back into it I would go traditional archery.

I like the feeling of hunting in a very "old school" and skillful way. I don't want any 200yard easy mode shots with scopes and high powered rifles. Give me some face paint & camo and let the stalk begin.

When I killed my first deer ever this year it was with a bow. Young 5 point and I was jacked up for like 20 min with adrenalin!! When I shot my second with my .30-30 it was less of a pumped up feeling and shorter after effect :)

Id take the excitement of the bow kill over the gun kill anyday.

But I'll take killing a deer or 3 next year any way I can :)

I thought I would continue to hunt both gun and bow until I converted to trad bow. Now it's just the bow for reasons already stated.

I find the bow more exciting than rifle or shotgun but my favorite method to hunt is with a pistol. Hunting small game or whitetail deer both make my heart race at times and the convenience of the handgun is a huge plus if I'm dragging a deer off of a mountain.

I have strictly bow hunted for the last 14 years. I have been hunting for 32 years. I love the challenge of getting the animal close and then drawing undetected. It got to the point if I could see it with a gun it became mechanics and bang dead deer.I am going to get back into handgun hunting this year.Momma going to buy me a new Ruger super redhawk 454 soon.
