They’re tough and affordable. You know they’ll come out just fine from most tasks you throw at them, given reason and loving maintenance after. I can do dirty jobs with ‘em that would make me hesitate to reach for the Spydercos.I am an urban home owner in my late 60's whose house is about 38 years old. Older houses require repairs. I use knives when working on DIY projects around the house and yard.
I have several Cold Steel knives, but I bought them mostly because I found the designs interesting. Cold Steel's love of 4" blades decreases the frequency with which a Cold Steel product makes it into the carry list. I do have a Grik, which does make it into the list.
Just use the patented DangerZone98 Adidas knife fight strategy: strap on your Adidas and run in the opposite direction of pointy things tryna kill you. Physical fitness and a healthy diet enhance this strategy by as much as 40%.I hope you'll never have to use a knife for that purpose.
The Germans had it right. Kriegsmesser = war knife. It’s just a big knoife!Just need the right knife for the job.

Large Espada in XHP is a great choice, man. Wish I scored one but I don’t think they make them anymore haha.Anything I can't break by ripping or folding is probably going to get a taste of my steel. Really l carry two knives a smaller like a broken skull in my back pocket an a large folder for safety but being a mechanic I cut scrap an in peel apart all kinds of different materials from plastic copper gasket an xhp is the best I've ever came across years ago I tried i90 form another company it was a expensive at the time an it chipped bad I traded back I never cared about rust because I hanle mine so they don't get much chance to rust but aus8 was easy to sharpen aus10a seems pretty good in my Rahja2 but I haven't used it working only cutting trees an boxes but love that knife second to my true favorite large espada g10 cts xhp that is my favorite I carry almost everyday but I just got a vaquero xl serrated because its easier to replace so this will be my new everyday into unknown carry.
Espada’s are the shit indeed.Espada's are the shit, love the way the XL practically dwarfs the Magnum IX in this old picture.

Actually, I live in a very rural area and just recently sold about 400 wooded acres. If I have any serious cutting to do, I use an axe or a chainsaw. But I always carry some sort of knife with me, I just don't use them much. But I do like them.
Don’t forget to chop meat stuffed boots and yell “DIE!” as you dispatch manila rope.Stabbing pig carcasses on you tube....
