What do you recommend for a good electric razor?

I just got one of the Braun Synchro Shavers as a christmas present. I was used to using a Gilette Mach 3, but it seems like I've been getting razor burn more frequently. So I asked for the electric shaver. I haven't had any problems shaving my face, but as one person said, it's not the best for shaving the neck. Self cleaning and charging definitely make it worth the price though. I'm just wondering how much the replacement heads cost, and where I could find them? I don't think I'll need one for a while, but I haven't seen them in the local Kmart.

PS. While I'm thinking about it, Braun's Plaque Remover. Probably one of the best electric toothbrushes for the price. After using it for just a couple of weeks, I've seen how ineffective my regular toothbrush is.

funny thing

one of my daughters knocked my razor off its little stand yesterday while reaching for a brush and the dern thing shattered into about 20 pieces.

was going to try the new braun synchro (you know the one with the self cleaning head) but no one had one in stock. That is a good endorsement in itself.

settled for a new norelco quadratrack. had gone a couple of days without shaving and it gave a really clean, close shave without any irritation.

J&R Music World (yep) has the Braun 5414 for only $30 plus $5 shipping. It's a factory refurbished model. I take that to mean a "dead in box" warranty repair.

I just got mine on Tuesday, so only 2 days with it, but it beats my older (5 yr) Braun handily. And it didn't even have anybody else's hair in it! (It's not quite like buying used underwear).

Has two regular cutting heads on either side of a "long hair trimmer"... designed to get those renegade "haven't caught me in 3 day" kinda hairs that regular screen shavers have trouble with.

Anyway, it's a $60 to $70 shaver for a good price if you are a bold risk taker:
