I've got a Bear MGC Min Bear Jaws that is almost the exact same size as my Leatherman Micra. It has some small needle nose pliers that I really like. I do think highly of the Micra. I also have a Seber M3 and M4. The M4 is nice because it has small locks that prevent things from closing on you, but it's tough on the nails to close a tool. It does have the most tools of any of the ones I own. I also have a Victorinox Swiss Card and the Swiss Tech Util-key UST. The Swiss Tech was very sharp when I got it, but it's not comfortable to use to me. I also have 7 other Victorinox. The one I like the best is what I think is called an Executive. It has a large and small blade, scissors, orange peeler (more useful than you might think), maybe a file, and the usual toothpick and tweezers. Last, but certainly not least, is a carbon fiber Spyderco Ladybug. Don't laugh. It may be very small with only a 1" blade, but it's ATS-55, extremely sharp, and too light to register on my small food scale in the kitchen. Unfortunately, it's the least useful (with just a single blade) and the most expensive. It is however, the best blade design of any of them.
Now, with all that said, what do I actually carry and use everyday? The Swisscard stays in my wallet for it's toothpick, file, tweezers, pen, ruler, and scissors (don't use the blade any). The Seber M3 (4 screwdrivers, 2 of them Phillips, and pliers) is on a split ring with a Photon II attached. The Swisscard isn't a keychain tool, but being the size of a credit card (thick as 2 credit cards), it fits easily into a wallet and therefore has as much convenience to me as a keychain tool.
All the others I think are well made and good to have, but the Swisscard, M3, and Photon just fits what I want in my pocket at all times. Since I came up with this combo, I have yet to be somewhere, wishing I had one of the others.
If you're like most of us, you'll probably end up with several before you find the right one(s)!
