What do you regret selling/trading?

I miss some of the knives I've sold, but I don't regret selling any of them. I look back fondly on what great knives they were, but then remember that I wasn't using them and/or they weren't quite right for me, and the moment passes.

My fantoni hb-02 s125v (the small one) i am now in the market for another one, even sent the guy I sold it to 5yrs ago an email...

Well I really miss my ZT 0560 and my first Chris Reeves Sebenza 21 in CF and basket weave Damascus but no regrets, I now have three more Chris Reeves and like eight different ZTs.

Spyderco Gayle Bradley.
Not really my cup of tea.
But somehow I miss it, the feel, look, and the action.

I've avoided this terrible pitfall by NEVER having traded or sold a knife ! :p
Me too. I sometimes look at some of my older stuff that I have little to no interest in anymore as generally speaking the quality of my knives has been improving year after year (along with higher price tags). I could sell many of them and I suspect not really notice that I don't own them anymore. But I hesitate.....

I can happily say the same thing.

Now, as to knives I wish I had never bought in the first place, there have been a few, but thankfully just a few. None that I held on to, I just returned them for a refund.

I'm in the process of rebuying many of the ones that got away. The one I'm looking for now that I kick myself over is a plain, satin, mini Al Mar Sere.

My ZT 0301
I see them pop up on the exchange every now and then but for way more than I paid.

The one I regret most is my Strider SnG. I sold it to pay a bill. I doubt I'll buy another. Sold it four years ago. Say what you will about the guy, but his company made a hell of a knife.

I traded my first pocket knife to a friend when I was in grade school. I later regretted it and tried to get it back, but when he realized the value I saw in it, he started negotiating for an excessive profit. My greatest regret was that I should have kicked his ass on the spot. I recently bought a close duplicate of that same knife for my collection. So there, Jim, showed you...Arschgeige.

A few buying regrets but fortunately, no seller's remorse yet; not even after recently selling a Gen 6 XM-18 Slicer.

I buy more impulsively than I sell and don't sell many things after I've bought them. Those things that I do sell are only those things that I've firmly decided that I no longer like or need after much more careful thought than I used to buy them. So, there is very little chance of feeling any regret about selling them.

Actually most of my regrets are not buying knives (and other things) when I see them because, if I wanted to buy it (whatever it is), I seldom ever see it again, if I don't buy it right then and there.

My 2006 Microtech Socom Elite, in the stonewashed tanto configuration. I didn't realize what I had until it was gone. While I've finally obtained a satin finished version to replace it, the stonewashed version was the most special knife I've ever owned. The 2018/2019 ones are very nicely made and I've got two of them, but the old ones were my favorite due to the washer-free construction, incredibly thin edge grind, and that microbar lock. What an absolutely bomb proof folder.
