What do you think about Cold Steel?

I like cold steel, I have a number of them including the Laredo, 6" voyager, the spike, 6" ti lite, and the trail hawk. I am very pleased with all of them.

I own about a dozen cold steel knives that I bought in the 80's, including the Trailmaster, twistmaster, and recon scout. I love these knives but I have heard that the quality of their knives is just not the same today - don't know if that is true or not.

Durn it guys! This is the friendliest CS thread that I have ever seen here! All I can say is that I agree with you. I have a number of CS hawks, throwing knives, spears, neck knives, sheath knives, machetes, Explorers and Vaqueros. I have abused the crap out of all of them with no problems. Everything I have is 3 to 10 years old, a mix of stainless and carbon steels. They have all performed above and beyond and at very reasonable costs.

I own a few of the carbon V models: SRK, Master Hunter, and a couple of Twistmasters- they were all purchased in the early 90's. The SRK really seems to be a solid knife, especially for the price. All the above knives will take and hold a really sharp edge, and all were fairly inexpensive. IMHO the Master Hunter and SRK in Carbon V are very good values.

no it's more like NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

Aww hell, I'd say, NO, unless you are looking at certain models and getting a deal.

I can't imagine anyone - ANYONE - on this forum passing up the NIB Recon Tanto (not a 2nd) for $20 I got at a going out of business store...

Another thing we can all agree on -

Cobalt, your avatar ROCKS!!!
